I do not know why I ever trusted it to be anywhere near on time. Last few times I have ordered from the SE store I always get it late. It's never been THIS late, however. I don't even know how else to complain about this or where to forward my complaints to. UPS just sucks ass.

Vast majority of online store video game-preordering sucks ass like that these days aside from like, best buy I believe. With square-enix's store when I pre-ordered the final fantasy pixel remaster on the PS4 I got that on release day no problem, but then with star ocean 2 R's CE that did not arrive until like 3 days later I believe.

I'm assuming you must have got that rebirth collector's edition and thus had no choice but to buy it from square's store because in any other case I get my physical game pre-orders from my local gamestop up the street which never fails, lol.

Same thing happened to me except UPS still wont give me a date, no updates since it left Vegas on the 26th.

I got my copy (standard) from Amazon on time this time. Though even they have slipped before.

Best buy had the game, but not the steel book. They told me to check back later

This is why I stopped buying games online. Back in the day, Amazon would ship my games early to make sure I get them, now I live within 30 minutes of THREE distro centers and if I order a game it never comes on release date for some reason.

I just go to Best Buy or Gamestop now for any new releases.

Best buy sucks now too, you can't preorder any games from any of these places & get it day of. I just stopped bothering after I tried to get street fighter 6 or AC VI from them. Each time I asked about the delivery date, even when ordered weeks in advance, projection was a week after release.

Its mainly cause of street dates I assume but those are pretty dumb too. Mine is coming today at some point. I got the demo downloaded so Ill just play that so I can continue where I left off when the game arrives.

Ah damn. Yeah that sucks then.

I have always preferred to pre-order in-person since the local gamestop I go to is like 5 minutes away from where I live and its extremely rare the in-store preorder shipment gets screwed up. Hell my deluxe edition physical FF7 rebirth was ready soon they opened the doors so the stores had it for awhile it seems.

It sucks when the only way to get a certain limited or collector's edition is via the company's online store. Bandai-namco's in particular sucks ass with the shipping fees.

For the record and just to establish a timeline, this was for Mortal Kombat 1.

Also going to join in and say that Best Buy is the only place I pre-order from anymore because they're the only place that I can get my game on launch day. I stopped trying with Amazon because I never got it the day I was supposed to, it always got delayed for a week on release.

That's weird because when I was looking online to preorder to get Armored Core VI, or Tekken 8, neither would arrive to me the day of. & If I went to pickup in store, I got days after the release in both cases still for when I could grab it.

I remember also being confused same with someone in store that we couldn't preorder in store anymore as well. But the last time best buy had a good preorder system was honestly before COVID. In my state, there was one that had a giant caged in depo basically at the front left side of the store. When it was launch day for Pokemon or whatever else, we'd all just form a quene there & match receipts & then get our games the day of.

But those days have changed clearly because I just don't even bother preordering because Amazon also doesn't do a good job anymore. I'll just hunt down a copy the day of

I preordered at Target since I got it for $50 there (had a Target circle coupons + Red card discount). First they estimated Mar 1, then they changed it to estimated Mar 6 last week. Surprisingly, I got the game yesterday, though, which was unexpected since I read that Target is usually horrible with pre-orders.
