The methodology seems very flawed here, as a huge number of games have no romantic or sexual dynamic whatsoever, so I feel like they shouldnt be counted as games that arent representative.

Also, a lot of the games that do have LGBTQ+ romance options, like Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and Baldurs Gate, probably arent tagged as LGBTQ+.

im pretty sure mass effect and balder's gate are exactly the 2% that do have it, yes

edit: and those games are good. co-incidence? maybe ppl like queer shit but dont want to admit it

Most of the "straight" hentai games have at least a couple F/F and/or M/F/F scenes. Or at least a large chunk of them.

I really hate articles like these. Wonky statistics, no real presentation of what should be done, little acknowledgment of what exists, all leading into something that's just clickbait.

Well for Tetris, theres really only one character that is confirmed straight.

Do they mention the genres specifically? FPS, sports, fighter, rpg, 2D/3D adventure, graphic novels or etc.

The methodology of the study is probably flawed, but what is true is that a lot of gaming spaces remain breeding grounds for reactionary & bigoted politics, and that when a game so much as shows a character being gay, a lot of spaces will cry thst it is woke and infiltration of the gaming space by DEI or ESG or SJWs.

Profile pictures, usernames, manners of speaking and word choice, and more. Like theres a difference between someone yelling at you because theyre losing or because you have a low score or for no good reason, vs you join a lobby and someone is immediately trying to kick you because they can see a rainbow in your profile picture or the character skin youre using is connoted as LGBT by the games community.

There was a topic earlier about woke developers or some shit, and it's because they're attempting to make things more inclusive and assholes think they're the only market.

There's that, but also I've definitely been called a bundle of sticks in most online games, and I am straight.
