A world where its not too far into the future, where we are still on Earth, but a dystopian, corporation ruled environment where huge metropolis cities are everywhere with cyberpunk-esque techonology and body enhancements rule.

Or a universe where humanity has reached the stars, being able to go to different planets through space travel that only takes days or weeks. International colonies thrive and alien life has been found, with both humans and aliens living together in peace or going to war. Flying cars, cybernetics, mechs and space ships are a common sight.

Why would I want to live in a dystopia?

I'm sure sci-fi has all the better elements of cyberpunk anyways.

Sci-fi atleast has takes where you can atleast pretend there's equality.

Cyberpunk seems to literally depend on class inequality, as a necessity.

Some people prefer cyberpunk for some reason. Maybe its the vibe it brings, I know I like it. But compared to Sci-fi, nah.

I think Space Opera would be a better word then. Its kinda hard since theres so may subgenres including neo-noir (Blade Runner) or just science fiction.
