It seems Former President Donald Trump will know the names of his jurorsbut not their addressesthe judge in his upcoming trial in New York regarding hush money allegations has ruled, citing concerns of harassment and prejudice.
In an order published on Thursday, Judge Juan Merchan granted motions put forward by prosecutors on February 22 to restrict the disclosure of jurors' names to parties involved in the case, and to limit who knew their home or business addresses to either party's lead counsel. In his ruling, he referenced "the likelihood of bribery, jury tampering, or of physical injury or harassment."
Trump's legal team accepted the two motions, on the proviso that the jurors' names could be disclosed to other legal staff and consultants involved in the trial, which is due to start on March 25.

SO...hopefully Trump won't further add to his list of crimes and do something to the jurors but...seems like something he would do.

I'm going to assume that if he posts their names and details during some inevitable unhinged rant that will bring yet more indictments? Because I can't imagine that being legal.

Honestly I think in such a high profile case like this they shouldn't even be seen during the trial. Idk put em behind a 2 way mirror or whatever they are called

yeah the names are definitely going to be leaked and tons of people will "investigate" them. and by "investigation" i mean idiots will google search and get the wrong people and tons of misinformation will be out there. all calculated to rile up the base

On one hand I definitely agree this is one of the most dangerous and high profile jury cases we've ever seen. On the other hand, there's a reason why their identities have to be disclosed eventually. If the prosecution could keep them secret even during and after the trial, anyone could say "well duh, they just made them up and conveniently we can't prove they didn't."

Same reason why police need search warrants and the evidence they collect has to be recorded and made available to the defence, or why when testifying against someone you have to appear in court and, so to speak, "look them in the eye" (which can be terrifying for people testifying against the mafia). Then again I don't want to sound condescending since I'm sure you already know all of that, being a prison guard.

To be honest this trial is fucker up either way. The jury is supposed to be unbiased and I don't see how anyone is unbiased when it comes to this.

Idk how ones on this level work but the juries decision has to be unanimous too right? One Trump supporter would be all it would take for a hung jury

This mans only justice will be when he dies he will never face jail time ever we know this

So trump has their names but not their addresses? Wouldn't those be easy to find since he has their names? This seems very very suspicious.

I think that would very much depend on whether their name is "Bob Smith" or "Caytelinne Somereallyunusuallastname". Still seems like an unacceptable risk either way tbh.

That's what we've been worried about for years. And yes, to my knowledge it has to be unanimous, something I have mixed feelings about in general.

Looks like a whole lot of people are about to be harassed, it'll make for a good media story I suppose but these future victims will not see justice from the courts. How sad is that?

The instant one of them is harassed or harmed they need to come down hard on the fact we all knew it would happen.

There is a difference between being truly unbiased and being able to set aside those biases and listen to the evidence. Further, I did a little research and there seems to be measures in place to expell a juror that refuses to actually abide the evidence even after a trial starts to prevent people from lying during selection.

Of course at it's core, Trump having the names in general shouldn't have been a thing because we all know he won't be able to resist releasing that list if things turn bad for him.

If it leads to witness intimidation, Trump can be rico'd.
