I've been playing through the Mario RPG remake on Switch, and much of Mar10 was spent on it this year. I got to the Sunken Ship, started using the Exp Booster just to balance out the levels a bit for my party, and then discovered that my favorite leveling spot from the SNES version has been nerfed. Ah well. At least the specters were decent enough that my party is now all level 15 (and totally over-leveled for this point in the game) from all the exp balancing. Also, 3k coins with nothing to spend on until the next set of weapons and armor.

Despite that, I was still able to hit the level cap post-game with less then an hour of grinding.

With the Exp Booster of course.

I could see myself getting mario rpg for collectors purposes along with thousand year door, but not to play them

Pretty sure it just started this year. Someone in the marketing department probably just looked at a calendar and went "March 10th... Mar 10... MARIO!!! Do it!!!"

Like I can't remember it being "celebrated" before this year and I have literally played and beaten every Mario game (outside of some of the "sports" games).

Looks like it goes back as far as 2015 in terms of official recognition, but it's relatively recent that more has been done to celebrate it.

What do you mean taking the dolphin devs off the net? You can still download dolphin.

And don't blame nintendo, blame the yuzu devs for making money off of Nintendo IPs. Everything probably would've been fine if they didn't charge for anything. Plus, they were supporting piracy of recently or even not yet released games. They deserved to be sued tbh.

Yeah, that's no bueno. Pirating stuff that's no longer available for sale? Fair game. Pirating stuff that's available for sale, but it's old enough that the owner has obviously made their money off of it and whatever price they're charging is unreasonable? Potentially dubious, but I'm not going to think less of people for being okay with that. Pirating stuff that's new or not even out yet, undermining the owner's ability to make back their money? Nobody should expect to get away with that.
