A lot more fast-paced, no more waiting, no more stalling, both sides are more balanced.
Also can easily gain 950+ out of 1000 daily score in a single match even if you lose, meaning people who hate it can fuck off faster.

It's a huge improvement

That's good to hear since I hate Windtrace.

So as a returning player, Ive been looking at what Im lacking and trying to plan out wish usage. I went for (and got) the bow because Ganyu is one of my maxed out characters and it seems really good for her. All of my other weapons are pre Arataki/Baizhu/Shenhe/Yae, but I was a dolphin and have most of them. So if there are others that are distinctly potent I should keep an eye out for, I would appreciate a heads up. Im also planning to aim for Navia to strengthen my Geo, and Nahida for Dendro (along with 4*s).

I mean any archon is going to be a big boon. So obviously Nahida and Furina.

Nahida needs other characters who can take advantage of dendro reactions. That's a loooong thing to get into so maybe someone else can get into it or give you a link.

Furina is a little simpler--she just needs healing. The way she works is, she drains half of everyone's HP and if you heal everyone, that will give them a MASSIVE damage buff. And it stacks up more based on the number of people you heal. So strong, party-wide healing is a must. So Jean works great with her. Qiqi isn't bad but she gets overshadowed by other healers due to her damage. Noelle is surprisingly good though.

The new characters that fit her the most are Charlotte, Xianyun, and Baizhu. Charlotte needs C6 to be really good by herself, but can work well at lower cons if you pair her with a medium-rate healer like Yao Yao, Bennett, or even Barbara.

Xianyun is great but she also buffs plunging attacks so pair her up with someone who's good at that for best results (Diluc can be amazing, for example). But if you don't like plunging attacks, she's not a good choice.

Baizhu is very versatile and the most powerful healer. He will give you a lot of good options in the future because he works well with both Nahida AND Furina. I highly recommend pulling on his banner if you're not saving for anyone else and want to use archons in the future.

Well I got Baizhu c5... have just enough to hit 50/50 but idk if I should risk it or wait to see if an eventual Liyue banner might have him, allowing to save enough for a guarantee. There's a good chance he might not even be on it though...

Well, C6 of any 5 star limited character is overkill... On the other hand, if you like Baizhu enough to get C5, why wouldn't you go that extra little bit and get C6?

Well obviously aiming for his c6 is the only reason to go beyond c2, it's just a huge waste to keep wishing on a banner that already maxed out the 4*s. Don't want to blow the last of my stash and still not get it ya know, especially if another opportunity could be right around the corner (that none of the current wishes would count towards pity for).

I hadnt considered water too much since I have a fairly stacked Kokomi and Mona, but I was eyeballing Furina, so I appreciate the opinion on her. Ill probably add her to my list.

She's very good, and works great with Furina. The thing is, though, she came out fairly recently so it might be a long time before she reruns again.

You mean that her given name is Miko and her family name is Yae? Yes, that's why you'll notice that people speaking informally, like Paimon or Ei, always call her Miko, and Yae is only used by people calling her "Lady Yae," or something.

Similarly, even though the gaming community always calls her Kuki, you'll pretty much never hear anyone in game calling her that. Itto and all her other friends call her Shinobu.

I dont suppose the developers have said anything about what will happen when we reach the final city? Elaboration on the future of the game, I guess. Will they keep making new story, stop the story but keep recycling the gacha as long as it pulls in enough profit, or just shut down?

Im not too familiar with this developer or gacha games like it.

I did 4 10 pulls trying to get at least one con for Layla, instead I pulled 4 copies of Faruzan.

Nothing has been said officially but a lot of people speculate that they'll essentially make a "Genshin 2" due to the current storyline is called the "Teyvat Chapter" which implies that we'll go beyond Teyvat, but doing so would warrant a whole new open world with probably different combat

Honkai Impact 3 at least I know has multiple acts after its first main story wrapped up. Genshin can do the same, but I do question how feasible it can keep going with its open world format and MHY's insistence on it being mobile friendly. I just figure at some point it'll be too big but maybe I'm way off.

So, theoretically, would a new game be a rollover of current assets like Overwatch 2 was? Or would everyone starts from the beginning again?

Im absolutely certain that theyll make us start all over again.

In my head, making a whole new game makes the most sense because the size of the game currently is way too big to be making a whole other open world with assets equalling the size of the current one + whatever Teyvat has left.

But I don't work at Hoyo, maybe they have a way of doing so without turning your preferred device into a Genshin machine lol

Kind of out there, but I randomly tried to do a Trump impersonation revolving around him playing the Traveler. Its a huge wall of text, because thats how I think he talks. Going to share it for possible laughs, but Ill spoiler tag it so seeing the text is optional. I know Im about 8 years late for this, but I had an itch and this scratched it.

I play Genshin Impact sometimes, and Ill tell you the honest truth, not lying like others will, and these people always come up to me and say, Sir-, and Im not their boss, theyre saying it out of respect. And they say, Sir, how are you so strong?, and I tell them, I say, Timmy-, thats this kids name, I say, Timmy, its not easy. And its not easy, well for me it is, but for others who arent as strong, you know, its not easy.
But I tell them, Timmy, it takes work. And it does, it takes a lot of work, more for some, and it takes a lot of connections, you know. The work is one thing, and it matters, but its also working with the right people, the best, strongest people, and I know them.
So I tell them, when you get to be old enough to adventure, you come talk to me, and Ill show you how its done. I wont do it for you, it has to be something you do, but Ill tell you how, because thats what matters, you know? You need to tell others how to get where you are, because they cant, they cant make it there on their own, they dont know how until you tell them. And its not their fault, its not their fault, there are so many adventurers out there that try and take advantage of them.
Can you believe that? These adventurers try and take advantage of them by lying, but I wont lie, Ill tell them how to do it. But it wont be easy, and it will take work, a lot of work, and thats what they need to know.

You'll get used to it the more you play. The key here is having a good eye-hand coordination, which you automatically gain as you play.

What makes rhythm games a lot easier for me is paying attention to sound more than my eyes, though. All targets are synchronized to the music you hear.

Thanks for the tip. Im horribad at rhythm games, but decent with instruments and decent with shooting games, so its frustrating.

It's normal.
When I started playing Project Diva F I struggled to even win on normal difficulty.
Many hours later I ended up clearing everything on extreme difficulty.

There is no shortcut, you'll get better as you play. For me the hardest part of this event is just figuring out which button I am supposed to press, as I get confused on 1st&2nd column and 5th&6th column inputs.

Same as you. I'm used to Project Diva and Theatrhythm on controller so I derp out using keyboard with Genshin lol. But like exe said, with rhythm, it's plain ol' practice and it helps to go with the music more than focusing on the input timing visually.

I was getting frustrated and stopped after the second try, but went back and by the sixth I was doing a lot better (even if still bad). Good enough to get the rewards at least, so thank you for the tip on repetition.

I also agree with the input thing, thats aways been my biggest issue with rhythm games. As an extension of that, the musician in me has a very hard time thinking of keyboard/controller buttons as music. Ive played brass, percussion, and string instruments, and trying to think of the sounds as button taps (or steps for real life rhythm games) has always stumped me. Im no professional, but a piano is a lot easier to play by ear than stuff like this for me.

Unrelated, but I started Genshin on PS4 and switched over to PC when I came back. But the PS4 inputs in a general sense seemed to work really good for the game, so I didnt try learning it on KB/M. Anyone whos comfortable with controller find that they preferred KB/M anyway?

If you can play on mobile, it's a good idea to do it for these rhythm games. They seem designed for a phone or tablet, and using a touch screen makes it a lot easier.

A keyboard can also work well if you map the keys in a way that's intuitive.

Controllers are the hardest though. Switching away from the controller will make the rhythm game a lot easier if you can do it.

Yes but MAKE SURE YOU CALIBRATE in the settings menu so the visuals actually match the beat. That's really important.

Has anyone actually been able to beat any of the event bosses in 90 seconds on the hardest difficulty with no negotiations

I did the third one and it took me 4 mins lol

Ironically, the Primo Geovishap for me, but it was close (like 87 seconds). Pyro Regisvine is just too nutso, like 3 minutes at best for me to beat with no negotiations, and Jadeplume Terrorshroom I got kinda close with, like 1m 47s, but not quite close enough. Could probably clear it if I put more effort into learning meta rotations, but I just can't be arsed at this point, lol.
