An absolute clusterfuck of what is canon, what is not canon, and continuous reboots, do-overs and "just ignore that one"-s is actually massively on-brand for DC, making the DCEU remarkably faithful to the source material.

They really should have just used Flash as the last film in the DCEU and just gone from there instead of releasing Blue Beetle and Aquaman after. Just say Flash fucked something up, and this is the new future.

If Peacemaker season 1 was canon that would have to mean The Suicide Squad is canon which doesn't work if the plan is to reboot the entire DC cinematic continuity.

Loved Peacemaker and happy it's continuing but it'll be interesting to see if keeping (parts of) the DCEU brand alive is going to hurt the new reboot. The brand has been box office poison to the point where movies that were well received like Blue Beetle still bombed.

I get why they're doing this, many people have lost faith in the original DCEU to the point where even a decent movie like Blue Beetle bombs at the Box Office. The new universe is an attempt to win the comic book fans back. This unfortunate is going to be the comic book mess of "what's canon and what isn't" that will require people to do research on this shit. It's going to be a clusterfuck, but hopefully James Gunn knows what he is doing.

Weird. I really liked season 1. I hope season 2 is good but it'll be weird to have a reboot for it--kind weird they did that with suicide squad too but at least it was a different director and not a sequel

I watched Peacemaker without even watching the Suicide Squad movie he was from, or any DCU media for that matter, and I really enjoyed it.
