I have been getting the same things lately.

the app at least as incognito mode and Im pretty sure you can reset your history or something

Just search for something? Endlessly clicking on suggestions rots your brain.

Youtube in incognito mode can be so nice. Yt really loves to shove shit you've already seen or ignored down your throat.

if you use youtube primarily for music, it's great to get repeat tracks in your autogenerated playlists
tbh YT has the best algorithm for recommending music imo. none of the other services ive tried even come close, especially if you're into relatively niche genres

I love YT for music, but Spotify is really getting up there for me. The Discover Weekly has lead to a ton of new bands in the rotation. That, and for whatever reason the sound quality is very noticeably way better on Spotify. My main gripe is I'm very visual and heavily prefer music videos when at home.

I use YouTube for music videos, since the VEVO app is broken on Samsung TV. I wish there was a way to shuffle my favorites.

my problem w/ spotify is that it doesnt have any of the foreign music i listen to, most of the indie/amateur stuff i listen to, and absolutely none of the specific live/re-recordings i like

like some girls are bigger than others is prolly my fav smiths song, but the live version (that i prefer) sounds completely different than the album version

My advice is stop letting the algorithm decide what you want to watch. Subscribe to channels you like and use your subscription feed page instead of the home page. If you're looking for something new, just search for it.
