You just know theyre alts from previously banned or suspended accounts that have every intention to continue to post in bad faith until they get out of hand.

This isnt entirely related to CE btw and is based on how the account posts.

Also if an account was created by in like 2003 and has veteran status it probably should have been auto closed a long time ago. Everyone knows thats an alt lol.

Newer accounts already have less leniency than older ones, if they are known alts of regular rule breakers we do take that into account

honestly they should just keep banned people properly banned.

TBH this topic was made because of the Dragon Ball board. Scotty, Hoth, or whoever keeps making new accounts over there to just make topic after topic shitting on the franchise, on the characters, or making obnoxious topics that are never meant for serious discussion and only to troll keep happening there. Right now youve got new accounts or even some of the older alt accounts using the creator of the franchises death to make bad faith topics with every intention to troll. Sometimes you have to know their posting style to understand and I dont think mods pay enough attention on that board specifically to see that and I totally get it. Im more annoyed that theyve gone on for so long. Like the same users have a history of flooding the board in the past and getting accounts banned.

I can only assume making accounts on new IPs mask that theyre alts over there for some of the older accounts, but its also pretty obvious theyre alts and every message and topic they make is trolling. Still nothing is done about it no matter how many times their posts are marked lol

Scotty is a perfect example of someone needing not only a blanket IP ban but local law enforcement to get on their ass for cyber-trespassing.

To me it seems the DBG board's issue is that people simply aren't marking the messages there. Despite being such a high traffic board I almost never see marked messages from it in the queue. We can't realistically patrol the boards for violations, folks gotta mark stuff.

My example is of known shitposters being allowed to linger like a bad smell for years. Give me administrative power and I'd have this place fixed so quickly it would make your head spin.

Is it possible when looking at the queue another mod could have already answered it and chose to ignore it? Do the details make a bigger difference when marking a post? It does become discouraging to always mark posts there if they dont typically get modded.

Good notes on a marked message make a huge difference for sure. I can't tell you how many times I'll see a message marked for trolling where the message itself doesn't seem to be particularly bad, and since the mark doesn't give me context I have no choice but to leave it alone.

Right I understand. Ill put more effort into marking those posts in the future. I think a lot of us that arent alts on that board gave up and expect a mod to see the post and take care of it themselves lol. That or when a post does get modded that the account would get the hammer for their posting history. If you see something as trolling there but not enough context is given that can be expected if you dont recognize the account as one of the problematic posters there if youre not regularly on the board.

It doesnt seem as though its working over on the DB board. Should be plenty of messages in the queue since yesterday that havent been dealt with. This is exactly why marking posts over there for known trolls is discouraging. I wish it was different.

Mods should auto ban new accounts in general.

mods should ban all political arguments/flaming here, like the 261 ban was intended
