If you get the golem to fall, Maelstrom is basically a guaranteed kill on it. But yeah Sorc is super solid this time

Most of the ones I unlocked are shiny (rare) now. I doubt just 0.1% of players have bought a house, 2.9% used a ferrystone, and just 6.6% boarded an oxcart

Reached the grand canyon biome recently. Stopped playing to take a little break (might just sleep soon). Enemies are wayy tankier over here omfg. Got used to slaughtering the small enemies in the earlier parts with like 1 slightly extended high levin. Takes a lot more than that now. I need a new staff maybe .

I don't remember the 1st seeker token I picked up either. . My best guess is somewhere in Melvin

yeah, regarding your first seeker's token, i remember mine was near that guard camp where you start the game, so i looked up a guide to quickly run through the token locations at the start, and i found it pretty quick, like at the 4th spot i checked

on the bright side, none of the other riddles are like this and timed, i think

This is my first time doing it, didn't find the area in the first run-around.

I'm pretty much just wandering haphazardly with that Trickster augment that chimes when you're near tokens.

And I'm really hoping the chime actually works on this token.

If you don't mind "cheating" There's a mod that will place a marker where you grabbed your first token.

Hm. This gives me an idea. Can a forgery of a ferrystone work the same as a real one? Would be nice if it could, but I doubt it. It's all magick and shit. We need an eternal ferrystone like in DDDA. Hope they add it sometime soon. Man, how many years did they have to iterate on DDDA? All of the shit that was good about the first game should have been in this game at launch.

They're one of the few developers that actually has frequent surveys & fixes or adjusts based on the input so you'd be surprised. SE also does these to some extent, but Capcom is pretty regular about it, especially since DD2 had such a terrible launch

As of late I've been playing the game at 3151 x 1662 through Nvidia control panel's scaling resolution feature.This is 77% of 4k and fills up my whole screen. I then set dlss to performance mode so now the game is rendering sub 1080p but still looks sharpish on a 55 inch tv (im sitting like 3 ft away from it) with 60% sharpening applied on NVCP This allows me to set raytracing ON without my gpu (2080ti) working too hard .

There is some extra input lag tho unfortunately but this is the only way for now

Edit: nevermind for some reason when using scaling feature my TV switched from pc mode to movie mode. That explains the extra input lag. Can't access pc mode rn I think maybe my TV is fucked but can still access game mode which is compareable

The beastman trader came back to me later and said he found out it was fake, and that if he finds out I intentionally gave him a fake orb he will get revenge any way he can. The other merchant was convinced it was real and I never heard anything else from him.

Omg I finally gave my main pawn maelstrom and they and a hired pawn keep spamming it together!! Awesome

triple tornadoes on a golem earlier. killed it pretty quick

Just did the waterfall cave. I was lvl 15 and by the time I got out I was lvl 18. Dunno if I should have even been in that mf but I only died like twice against the chimera. the magic skeleton was more annoying than challenging lol

i went there around level 10 and i left cuz i felt like i was too underpowered. came back at like level 25 lol

Yeah I went around lvl 12ish and that chimera kicked my ass. I'd get it down to one life bar then it'd go rampage berserko mode

I'm level 63 and if it weren't for the fact that there's a couple of seconds where you can heal yourself before dying, I would have gotten destroyed by a few golems. When they go on a rampage they can kill you like 5 times over from their combo

And you can turn off motion blur on PS5 now

Holy crap. I just put the game on my 4K TV (PC output), and put my TV on auto HDR mode. I wonder f I can do something about the latency involved, but holy crap, the colours look much more vibrant on the TV versus my monitor.

Turn on game mode or go manually disable all the post-processing that your TV does.

I won't be grabbing it. And maybe its the negative 3rd party press I've heard about the game, but Capcom stuck in monetization into the fast travel system?

I figured it out. Turning it on auto HDR would create latency that made the game pretty unpleasant to play. I had to turn my TV's game master mode on instead of auto, then turn my picture mode to PC or game, instead of HDR mode. This makes the game look washed out though, so I turned on colour enhancement to strike a good balance between HDR and SDR.

It's literally 1 marker to fast travel to and not needed at all because you find a bunch over the course of playing naturally on top of some of the towns already having their own. And that 1 marker is pretty much the most useful thing of the mtx.

Was it shitty that the game all of a sudden had some mtx when the game dropped without telling the players? Yes. But the mtx is not some pay to win dicking over the players if they don't buy it that the media wants you to believe.

It's running way the hell better on my pc, I think they made DLSS a lot more effective at keeping the framerate up. I still have DLSS set to performance, but now I can have graphics at maximum instead of minimum and it runs really well in the open world, cities are a bit sluggish but nowhere as bad as before.

I'll have to see how it fares in my machine. I'm playing 1440p with everything on max and it only really feels a lil sluggish in the cities.

Playing on PC, the performance is a bit better, aside from the starting area.

Tried a new game on another PC(couldn't really run it on it before, can with some jitter now) and the starting area is a mess of floating NPCs and the ground textures not being exactly where the ground is. Everything else looks fine though lol

I wish there was a better pin system for the map. Elden Ring and BotW/TotK is the gold standard here. If they had a good pin system it would drastically improve exploration imo.

I hit the postgame yesterday and tbh, I'm not really feeling DD2. I never played the first one (I own it though) but what I heard made it sound like something I'd love, so I went into DD2 hoping I'd love it and instead I just... vaguely like it?

Apparently there's an expansion planned already? So if that adds a ton more enemies and (mini)bosses, I'm sure that combined with mods will go a long way towards my enjoyment of the game. But it's the first game I've bought in years that's actively disappointed me. I'm gonna do my NG+ playthrough Pawnless (or maybe with just my main Pawn) and see if that makes me feel better about it, because a lot of my complaints are centered on the Pawns.

Uh the DLC may not improve your experience then because the pawn system is one of the main selling points of Dragon's Dogma and it's almost identical to the first one. For both the convenient and the very inconvenient/stupid things that they do.

Main difference is the lines they repeat endlessly this time compared to the ones they said last time, unless you're talking about the pawn illness that results in towns being wiped out if you don't keep tabs on their behavior

Yeah, in all honesty, Dragon's Dogma 2 was pretty much what I wanted out of a sequel to Dragon's Dogma. I wanted more Dragon's Dogman because I loved the systems in it. I wasn't expecting there to be almost zero iteration on its core systems and even the look of the world, but oh well. Hopefully they address a lot of the issues. Am I correct in assuming that there is no Ur Dragon in the post game? That was a big reason why people played for the post game.

Not majorly.

Im not sure how it works, but I did a full run through the post game (extract 4 sites, hit up all the beams, etc) without the mist overtaking anywhere.

I think it's tied to resting a bunch but I have no idea.

Played a bit this morning. Found a more powerful archi staff for my main pawn.
