The man is ugly as sin and he didn't really do anything wrong (aside from all the crimes everyone in the gang commited)
He helped on the train robbery and then was kicked out of Micah's gang for trying to stop Micah from murdering a little girl. As a reward you beat the shit out of him and murder him brutally. To be fair, if you're partnering up with someone like Micah willingly, you've done some bad shit. John can try to let him go, but psycho Sadie wont have it.
