An apology isn't owed anything in return; it's just owed. It's not meant to mean anything to the person making it, and whether the person receiving it finds it meaningful is out of our hands.

It's gonna depend on the judge but accepting responsibility for your actions often is a mitigating factor that could result in a lower sentence.

It could make a difference in the sentence, but I would just look at it as a chance at last words and how I want to look in the media.

Ive been a practicing attorney for 12 years and I could say that 99% of the time it doesnt mean anything to the judge
