Do you have examples? I personally have not seen this occur here outside of the occasional random who almost always got dismissed appropriately, so I personally struggle a bit to understand this as a recurring problem enough to be noted, which is why I request examples

If I am remembering the debate right, you CAN be prejudiced towards white people, but not racist. Something about racism implies a power imbalance or something.

I haven't done much research on it, but I think that's part of it, at least.

Or they flat out just say they hate white people or overtly talk about how horrible they think they are. That's pretty common on Twitter.

What racist behavior? Explain. Nobody is defending what was said, but we simply just... Dismissed it as a dumb statement. Why did it require a topic whining about it, weeks later, while also subsequently ignoring that the Tweet she was replying to was also equally dumb?

I feel this is just an argument over semantics. Either way, you can be bigoted towards white people and those who try to hand wave or downplay it are wrong for it. I don't think this "well technically' stuff helps anything.

Anyone can be prejudiced against anyone, but racism usually implies a prejudice that's accompanied by, or rooted in, a position of socioeconomic power/authority.

Because let me be clear, here. You quoted me and ai123 as if we were either being racist, or defending racists. That's an accusation, so I'd like to know what you specifically meant.

Racism includes subconscious bias. For example, a white person in America instinctively feeling fear when encountering a black man on the street from societal conditioning and cultural influences growing up, as well as historical shaping of society.

Racism shows up in hiring practice, housing, policing, incarceration, healthcare, and many other facets of life. Having a white sounding name on an application has a higher success rate for applying jobs online compared to ethnic names.

There is a complex interplay of racism in society that white people in America do not experience, and takes generations to undo.

Conservatives fight tooth and nail against this slow progress and try to misappropriate racism when they argue against DEI, CRT, and other efforts to build a better future for all.

People are taking this troll topic seriously still?

I need to learn more about this topic.

Discrimination without impact is just someone being an asshole to you.

Someone disliking you for your race is not the same as catching a criminal charge for it, or losing/being denied a job for it, or paying a higher price for it compared to your peers.

Theres a difference between the two.
