I was literally watching buffy season 3 last night and there's this amazing scene at the dance where Giles tells Wesley - a grown adult implied to be maybe 30 - to hurry up and dance with cornelia already because she's 18, implying it's fine because shes legal. Then literally 2 minutes later he refers to the students as "children".

Tv sure was different back then

IIRC, I think that's more because Wesley is being extremely annoying about it.

You're not wrong, but the in-universe canon is that she's 18 and he's 33 (just checked). That's pretty weird let's be real. I'm 36 and wouldn't consider dating anyone younger than 25, nevermind sexy dancing with her at the school ball
