On top of this, re: wins in civil court? Winning the case is easy. Actually collecting on the judgement is tantamount to impossible. Its the same reason why despite Alex Jones being ordered to pay up in the Sandy Hook defamation trial, he hasnt and probably never will have to give up a damn cent to the families.

Really, civil trials are just there to make it look like the rich will be held accountable. Its all the same dog and pony show that the federal trials are, just with the lip service of them being found liable. No one actually pays the full amount, if they pay at all.

As for Trump's lawyers, I feel like if there's no finding of wrong doing, the lawyers should be held in contempt of court. How many judges now have they pulled this on? They're essentially defaming every judge they come in contact with and that should be punishable.

Don't know the usual speed of NY's appellate docket, and there's nothing about this one that would cause it to be bumped up in priority (no emergent questions of law like the immunity bullshit going on elsewhere in the federal courts). That said, given that there hasn't been news regarding appellate brief due dates, I would anticipate oral arguments no earlier than October this year, if not later, and then a decision a month or two thereafter.

Yeah, wasn't surprised when I looked him up and the businesses he's gotten rich off of. I do accounting for a dealership and have seen his Westlake Financial on some deals - it's just gross seeing 20 fucking percent APR on car loans.

Yep, same. It used to be a case of where I WOULD take people in a vacuum and that they were being genuine but no matter how the conversation started it almost always invariably drifted to what you said.
