You have to remember that not everyone pays as much attention to politics as you and I do, and especially so when its involving a crisis thousands of miles away.

this would never work sadly. The peace be broken within 72 hours by one side and we be back in the same spot. As long as the leadership stays the same, there is no hope of peace over there

What do you mean? The US has been admonishing Israel for crimes against humanity for the last 50 years of its illegal occupation. The impunity from international law that Israel enjoys is solely down to US support, and is really the main reason why their crimes have escalated over the years to the point of full blown genocide, and still the US defends Israel and refuses to acknowledge their crimes.

You severely underestimate just how ignorant the average person.

I've seen multiple people on both 261 and here boast about how they make sure to not be politically engaged as if it's shameful to be informed and aware of world issues.

Now imagine people who spend their days going to work and watching their shows/movies, doing little to nothing else. Or those busy with hobbies/work that keeps them away or not motivated to follow the news.

I've met plenty of people who don't even look at politics. Some are solely focused on work or other things in their lives. It's as if they have an invisible wall and they stay behind it. That's the average person..

Truthfully the opposite is also correct. Both are incredibly lucky that their opponent is who their opponent is. If anyone who actually had even a moderate favorablity rating had become the nominee of one of the two major parties he would have crushed the other side. Never in the history of America has the two nominees ever been less liked.

Regardless of anything either side accomplished or didn't, the simple fact is that the American people overall, as shown in tons of polls, strongly dislike both. Their favoriability ratings are abysmal. So each one is lucky that the other one is the one he is against instead of anyone who is even moderately liked.

First, you said never in the history of America has any candidate been less liked, and I'm pretty confident that's objectively false and Clinton was lower.

Second, as much as Biden has disappointed me on this issue, his numbers were low before this happened. It doesn't matter who the president is, no Democrat would have massive approval ratings. Trump is benefiting from a loyal cult that doesn't care who the other name on the ballot is.

All of the charges against the people arrested at the protest in Texas were dropped. HMM I wonder why?

On the square political compass I don't think they would be on opposite ends. Biden is center right on economics and has allowed protests to be squashed by law so is at least at the beginning of authoritarian.

Most people are so lazy when it comes to politics. Youd think theyd look at their placement on the political spectrum, look at the candidates and decide whos closest but thats not what they do. They assume theyre the perfect center, and that the 2 politicians must be the 2 extremes. Biden is objectively closer to the center than Trump but try pointing that out to a both sideser and they deflect to Biden isnt perfect which is true but not a counterpoint.
