I know there are subreddits for this, but Im trying to learn Spanish and not sound like an idiot while gathering as much advice and information as possible. I know I wont be fluent within a few weeks, but Im hoping to pronounce the language appropriately. I know some common phrases, but I would like to hold a conversation in Spanish.

You should go to meetup.com
If you live in a big city or large-ish town there may be an in person Spanish group. And they're usually free.

Duolingo it up, or pay for in-person classes.

Kind of this. You will only get pronunciation from using it. Rosetta Stone has a speaking portion but its not enough.

My wife is Brazilian and I have put a lot of effort into learning Portuguese so I can speak with her family. The best results were from classes and being immersed in it. Being in Brazil or around her and her friends forces me to try to actually practice it.

Learn vocab from programs and apps, listen to music and watch movies in the language and be around people that speak it.

(its surprisingly helped my Spanish too)

Watch some youtube vids on the alphabet. This will do a lot to help your pronunciation early on.

Destinos: An Introduction to Spanish is very good. It is a serialized telenovela-type story... I think it has English in the first couple of episodes and then switches over completely to Spanish and you figure out what they're saying by context. There are 52 episodes that are 27 minutes long.

https://www.learner.org/series/destinos-an-introduction-to-spanish/

I made a separate youtube channel for my Spanish learning where every single video is in Spanish. This makes things more convenient for me as things were a lot more confusing when I just had all my Spanish content mixed with the English on my main youtube page.

Dreaming Spanish is also a pretty cool source, it's all in Spanish and they use things like puppets and drawings in the beginner videos so that you understand what they're saying. Their site has their vids organized by category so you can set it up to show you only the Superbeginner ones. It has tons of free videos and you can pay to unlock extra videos.

Express Class 1 (Clase Express 1):
Today we learn about basic language genders articles. In Spanish (and every other language based of Latin language) the words have a gender.
La is used in femenine words, the plural word would be Las.
El is used in masculine words, the plural word would be Los.
Example for the words:
La roca (The rock)/La amante (The lover)/El man (The peanut)/El pollo (The chicken)

I can speak a little porch of geese. :)

Don't use Duolingo, it's far too slow and expects one to learn through constant repetition.

Best advice, hit your local library instead.

Find yourself a few nice college books to check out.

. . . market cap is 9 billion . . OK
From someone who had a paid membership and used the site daily for a year, it's just not any good.

It's constant sentence memorization without explaining the details of the language.

Best to get a college book instead.
