People actually care about St. Patricks Day and Easter? St. Pattys all people do is get get trashed and Easter is pointless if you dont have kids or arent very religious.

Uh, I don't think someone who was born in the UK and lives in Vietnam can really judge what St.Patrick's Day is like in the US. Especially the northeast and northcentral parts of the country or how it is becoming bigger in Ireland.

Firstly, I have experienced it in the U.S. Secondly, its not really any different there to how it is here, other than the fact that here not everybody pretends that theyre Irish.

Easter, just like Christmas was a Pagan holiday, that the Christians took over.
So moving the dates would have been counter productive

Sorry, didn't know you had an American experience with St. Patrick's Day. My bad.

I think St. Patrick's Day has the potential to be bigger than it is, especially with children. They should be able to do more than the stuff I alluded to earlier.

Hell I think Easter would be bigger if the date was fixed.

I'm not Irish and don't get trashed, dont have kids or am I religious. I notice I don't really celebrate any holidays. Thanksgiving is sorta religious in its origins. Giving thanks to God for surving. Halloween? Again no kids and would rather be left alone. Christmas? Not Christian any longer. I rarely gave out gifts since I lived alone and far away from family.

Tying the date of Easter to Passover would make way too much sense to ever be done.

Oh right. My mistake.

Let's see what wikipedia says
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Date_of_Easter

"The complexity of the algorithm arises because of the desire to associate the date of Easter with the date of the Jewish feast of Passover which, Christians believe, is when Jesus was crucified.[5]
....
It was originally feasible for the entire Christian Church to receive the date of Easter each year through an annual announcement by the pope.
By the early third century, however, communications in the Roman Empire had deteriorated to the point that the church put great value in a system that would allow the clergy to determine the date for themselves, independently yet consistently.
6] Additionally, the church wished to eliminate dependencies on the Hebrew calendar, by deriving the date for Easter directly from the March equinox."

Sure it is.

Practically nobody would care about this weekend if there was no federal holiday involved.

Easter is on a Sunday.
How does that change anything?

And most Federal Holidays, are set to make three day weekends are set for white collar workers.

All I'm saying is if Easter didn't fall on a long weekend nobody would particularly care about it. Sure the holiday is Good Friday but that's irrelevant to my point.

well it can't be on April 1st. no one would believe Jesus came back to life.

Oh yes it can. I remember a few years back I made a confession and wished people a Happy Easter, only to then say," Haw haw April Fool's that was a fake confession." Fun.
