If someone was the lone individual complaining about a woman in a position of power, that person was an idiot and everyone knew they were an idiot. They didn't have the safety net of a bunch of likeminded anonymous assholes backing them up. The POTUS on that show outright ordered that the Mutant Control Agency be shut down in the second episode, when she suspects that the X-Men had good reason to attack it in the first episode.
