its so little effort. u drop something, u bend over or u squat, u pick it up, ur done

ofc everyone else in this house is over 300lbs which might have something to do with it, but even when I was that big I still picked something up if I dropped it

It's a little passive aggressive as well. But start laying out multiple tiny trash cans around high traffic areas.

Then you can start addressing it as "no excuse" when trash falls right next to an available trash can. Once the trend of trash can usage increases noticeably, consolidate the many tiny trash cans to bigger yet less.

You have now trained your household.

Come in from outside, wearing a jacket. Walk past the hall closet where the jacket belongs because preoccupied. Drop the jacket on the couch because have to attend something. Skip the step where you come back to the jacket and hang it up.

Yes omg yes. Wifey will like pile the trash up in the can rather than pull the bag, so the kids will go to throw something away. Rather than pull the bag, or just ask me to grab it. The kids are starting to get better about the trash miss though. Starting.
