Even when they are in the "right" it's almost certainly towards the greater end of more profit because they quite literally have no other goal than to generate as much profit as possible within the bounds of law and public perception (until they are able to capture both of those things to create more profit).

Because when corporations do something morally wrong its considered okay because its not illegal. When an individual does, its considered illegal and they go to jail.
