Your job as a voter is to vote the best choice among the two parties.

If you don't like either choice, you should have, as a voter, walked into the voting booth during the primaries and voted for who you want.

Complaining about a candidate, while not doing anything to push forward your preferred one, is very lazy.

Expecting the candidate of your choice to be on board with 100% is childish.

Do I wish Biden did more about Gaza and Israel? Absolutely.

Is Trump so much worse? Absolutely. He has stated he's going to be a dictator, he has project 2025 backing him up.

Ding ding ding.

There's a bit of a difference between accepting a compromise on, say, tax policy or legalized cannabis, versus accepting a compromise on fucking genocide.

When your country keeps your politics to itself instead of influencing the rest of the world, you can tell us to stay out of it. Until then, we have every right to debate and attempt to influence it.

Which you can't do in our elections because you can't vote in them. You can just sit on your high horse and tell other people that "you're super sad about Palestinians so stay home and do nothing."

Pretty fucked.

You have not given a way to stop the genocide and oppose the only man who is calling for a ceasefire.

He's the one blocking a binding vote on a cease fire though. You can't give him credit for allegedly doing a thing and imply that it's good, and also at the same time argue that it's fine that he's not doing the thing. And most of the American public is calling for a ceasefire, it's only among the political class that it's not popular.

Cool. None of this has to do with the topic which is stating that biden is hurting his chances with the general voting public by supporting genocide. Why doesn't he stop supporting genocide and improve his poll numbers that way? What's the downside? Instead you get people in here screaming "BUT THE OTHER GUY!!!" and other irrelevant shit.

Instead of asking Biden to stop this, why not ask Hamas to surrender? And what is your solution for israel's safety should they fail to surrender? I'm not saying October 7th's attacks justify the actions of Israel. But nobody ever seems to have any answers to this question: What is Israel SUPPOSED to do? You can say "Not commit genocide" until the end of time, but it doesn't answer the goddamn question.

Hamas is still, in the end the problem. You can say that Israel is part of the problem too, and they absolutely are. But Hamas is a terrorist organization, and if they had the power Israel has, there really would be a genocide. Only it'd be Israel that was wiped out, and it'd be far worse than what's happening in Gaza. Again, Israel has to be better. But I almost NEVER see anyone that's pro-palestinian call on Hamas to surrender or blame them for what's going on. Because they played a HUGE role in this. Hamas has to be removed. How do YOU propose that happens?

Again downplaying trump.

Very strange.

Like I said, if you think this is the last election of your lifetime, go ahead and vote Biden. But if you're trying to convince me to support a genocide enabler by pointing to a law declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, it's just not a very convincing argument. Now imagine making it to someone who lost a family member. Horrifying.

You are acting like this is the biggest and most ultimate issue for us Americans. That is not the case. There is much more in this election than the Israel Palestine conflict. MUCH more. And while it might sound callous, I would wager a majority of Americans, when it comes time to throw in a ballot, will not care about Gaza in the slightest and will care about their own lives. That's the long and short of it. Why would someone living paycheck to paycheck really care when one candidate will ruin their lives by removing entitlements and the other won't? You think they care?

This view is in itself childish. It ignores the role of vested political and financial interests, political parties, the role of the media aligned with and owned by those interests, the difficulty of funding a campaign, the decades of propaganda against left of center and anti-war candidates etc etc etc. Candidates that would have opposed this are not on the ballot, not because they're not popular, not because they don't exist, but because such people never get that far in the current system anyway.

I will never ever ever concede that expecting a candidate not to facilitate a genocide is childish. I do expect all my candidates to be 100 percent aligned on that basic requirement. Yes, I do. The fact that we've gotten to a place where keeping to that basement level expectation is regarded as pie in the sky idealism is the problem itself.
