Two observations.

1. A lot of it holds up and is still very funny. Doesn't feel dated for being 20 years old.
2. Hal and Lois... Are just the most horrendous parents

I'm comparing Lois to Walter White and Walter doesn't come off as much of an abusive sociopath.

Agreed, when you're a kid you side with malcolm and the brothers, but when you're an adult you sympathize with Lois against the boys.

It starts in Season 3 but there's a noticeable drop in quality by Season 4. Some friends and I did a rewarch of it and I think we gave up around Season 4 or 5.

Usually I'd agree about Lois, but those four kids are so incredibly, shockingly badly behaved that she kind of has to.

There's an episode where she's remembering how she acted when Francis was a baby and she was sweet and loving and tried really hard and he was just a terrible little bastard baby so hard that she was forced to act like that.

Yeah, as a teen, i thought Lois was a monster.

As an adult, the kids are the worst.
