This is actually shockingly awesome.

Like I wasn't prepared for how damn good the first episode was. Legitimately good stuff. Lots of twists and turns, great action, pretty good comedy.

I have no idea why they are so bad at marketing stuff like this. They put out that cringe clip the other week and with more context the scene is great. No idea why they didn't show the scene BEFORE that which was so much more awesome.

On episode 3, but I'm loving it. Everyone on this show has the Bloody Mess perk too and it's glorious.

Everything I've seen of this show prior to release has been bad, but the show seems pretty amazing.

So the opposite cycle of actual Fallout games.

Also, I think it was a pretty good choice to go with a brand new story. They really do a great job using the elements of the entire lore and mythos and putting a more TV spin on it. There may be some lore inaccurate stuff, I'm not a total Fallout fanatic, but they really do make all of this stuff fun and interesting and I think that's the most important thing for an adaptation.

Just stunned that we're finally getting good video game adaptations with this and Twisted Metal!

Matt Berry's role in this is absolutely perfect and had me laughing so much. Perfect casting.

All of this character development rules too. Watch this show! You won't be disappointed!

Not trying to start anything, legitimate question: would this still hit if you absolutely give zero fucks about Fallout as a franchise? Like, absolutely no references will land at all.

I think so! They lay everything out for folks who don't know about it in such a charming and interesting way. Like the set pieces and lore of Fallout is already so interesting. They just use those and give us a deeper look into them.

They also have a lot of Easter eggs for fans too. Like honestly, you'll enjoy this if your knowledge of Fallout is minimal.

Just finished Fallout! This needs to get a season 2 desperately because this season was so good damn good.

The last episode alone is completely insane. I can't believe just how well they wove all of the elements of these games into a story like this. Just such a great, great job with this series. No complaints at all. I think this may be the best video game adaptation? It has to be.

So much better than Twisted Metal. As fun and great as Twisted Metal is, Fallout's plot and character development is better, easy.

I am seeing so much praise for this show that is being equally met by people being pissed that it's apparently a big middle finger to NV.

From what Ive seen so far it seems like you should just ignore any potential connections to specific games and take it as its own thing.

It isn't a big middle finger to New Vegas. It's people wanting to be upset at this show for some reason, plus misinterpreting things.

In fact, fans of New Vegas should be thrilled if they watched to the very end.

I watched the first episode last night and as an avid fan of the Fallout series, I was really impressed with the level of detail, not to mention the care and attention clearly invested in it. The pilot read like a bit of a manic, gory love letter, and that suits me just fine. I'm glad something stepped in after Curb Your Enthusiasm to fill the hole in my watch schedule.

People always have to be pissed about something these days. Anyway, waiting to watch with some friends. But I'm very excited!

also wow they sure made all the fallout stuff look exactly like fallout stuff. they even have a bunch of environmental storytelling skeletons

Kyle MacLachlan too was about as perfect a choice for his role as you could find

and Ive only just finished episode 2, but theres been some great minor roles from random funny guys I like (and a minor role from a guy I dont like, but he was playing a guy who sucks and they immediately killed him, so it was good)

whoever did the casting for this show has good taste

Edit: The power armor voice speaking anything other than badass lines always got me laughing too.

when I read this my first guess was Jason Mantzoukas, but I checked Jasons IMDB page and its not him

then I thought of a second guy, and I was right. Thats a good guy, cant wait to see that guy.

This was surprisingly amazing.

Binge watched it this weekend. Hope we don't have to wait too long for season 2.

About to start the final episode.

I watched dune first rp because I'll give anything with Goggins a chance, and was pleasantly surprised.

Yellowjackets girl is pretty good so far too.

Yep, they nailed the finale.

Really surprising. I think all the leads were great, the cameos were great, and the story wrapped up nicely while also leading towards an obvious S2. My favorite thing I've watched since TLOU. sorry barry season 4

If it were REALLY true to the source material, the show would have crashed at least three times before Episode 2.

i totally get why they wont do it, but a reference to how glitchy Bethesda games are would be pretty amazing

just have one dude in the background walk into something repeatedly because hes having trouble with his path finding

Just finished. As a professional Bethesda hater who doesn't like Fallout, it was very good! Better than TLoU.

I do think it's getting a bit overhyped in some places, but people who are fans of the property seem to have a good reason to be so giddy about it.
