So what's everybody thinking of playing for the two events this month? We have a Limit 1 event (every card limited to 1 copy, plus some additional bans) and a Fusion/Link event coming up. On my side account, I'm set on Branded Tearlaments for Limit 1 and Marincess for Fusion/Link. On my main account, I'm set on Sky Strikers for Fusion/Link, but I'm having trouble figuring out what to play for Limit 1. I noticed that one of the loaner decks is a beast deck with Zoodiac, Tri-Brigade, and other stuff, and I do have a Zoodiac deck on this account, so I might throw together something similar to that loaner.

This is my L1 deck. This is kinda groady, a bit nasty, a bit shit. (My choices were obviously impacted by how many royals I could fit in there) From what I can see, Ze Amin is a 1.5 card full PUNK combo, so if I have any access to her or Sharakusai + PUNK in hand, then I'll go off on them. If not... pray for luck. I probably should've built a more of a Zoo PUNK direction. If this build is horse garbage, I'll dump it for a variation of PUNK Zoo.

For L1, probably going with Branded, just trimming the 60 card deck down to 40. For Fusion/Link I'm undecided (why do they gotta keep doing VS like that) but maybe Hero? My other go-to deck for Link events tends to be Beetrooper, but It always feels bad not being able to make Cicada King during these events.

Technically yes, but the unique event banlist changes a lot of other things too. They banned a bunch of floodgates, they hit some generic engines, they hit decks that don't use the extra deck at all, they banned Maxx C, and they hit the very best Fusion/Link decks to keep them from totally dominating the event.

I will stubbornly try once more with Red-Eyes FTK.

Failing that, whatever, I guess.

Limit one probably PUNK + Rank 3 shenanigans. I'm not sure.

The last 4 10 packs I pulled gave me a total of 3 URs this is the worst I've ever pulled so I guess I'm not trying out Horus.

I swept the limit 1 festival with Infernoble Mikanko. Its a lot brickier than the full version but Isolde is easy to get to and does everything.

My build is pretty good. It gets to both PUNKs and Snake Eyes full combo alternatively. Both do uninterrupted 1 card combo. PUNKs are a bit more fragile, but I'd say they close out the game harder. Snake Eyes are still weak to destruction since it's hard to fit in the Formula Synchron line

This Limit 1 event has been very hit-or-miss for me so far. I'm 4-7 (including a string of 5 straight losses) on my side account with Branded Tearlaments, but I'm an undefeated 4-0 on my main account with a hodgepodge beast pile of Zoodiacs, Tri-Brigades, Melffys, Dangers, and Ancient Warriors.

I meant 1.5 card combo for Ze Amin. But let's face it, the proper PUNK combo basically replenishes your hand and then some, so I dunno if I'd call it 1.5. You summon Ze Amin and search Foxy Tune, discard 1 and Foxy Tune summons Sharakusai for Carp. The discard is made up by eventually getting to Dragon Drive, field spell pot of greed.

Had a freaking insane duel vs. a Snake Eyes Kash player. It's really difficult to describe the things that transpired in that duel, but he misplayed a ton (could've just shut me down turn 2 tbh) and I can't tell if I had better plays. I had one play that was particularly good but I don't think I would've had the foresight. Basically it just involves OTKing on turn 4. But it was a 6 turn duel where him overplaying and me holding Nib til end of Main just secured the duel

I skimmed the pack openings, Gage had insane Salad pulls. Doug pulled Brilliant Fusion. Back in the days, he was known as the biggest Brilliant Fusion simp. I dunno what copies it's at but I'm guessing Gem Knights suck too much to go into just for Seraphinite. Funny enough, Farfa pulled Seraphinite lmao. He got a good Lunalight pull, Lunalights being insane in sealed cuz some decks literally lack the out. Doug also got great Pend pulls, but not sure what boss monsters he has for them

Gage Salad deck is probably the cleanest deck I've ever seen him build all series. Even Jelly Cannon is decent here. Farfa's Lyrilusc lacks 3 Bird Calls, but most importantly he put the Numeron package in there, so he deserves to lose. Doug sadly brought a new deck. I kinda wanted to see more Fabled Sweep. Deck is solid. I forgot he had Astrograph. Evenly is massive vs. Gage

Gage v Furfa: Farfa opens Pathfinder. They really should've limit it at least. Both of them running Paleos lol... They're so good in sealed. No freaking way does Gage draw the Alpha AGAIN. He doesn't seem to know the obvious Salad lines tho lol. I mean don't you almost always send Jaguar? WAIT GAGE LOST TO THE FREAKING TRANSVERSER AGAIN?! How do you even get a season where a single person loses to Transverser like 3 times

Gage v Guod: Gage drew good against Doug. DAMN Doug got creamed. He drew so crazy it's insane. I think drawing the 2 spells was literally the only out Gage had, or he had to deal with a really long grind game

Doug v Furfa: You know, with stuff like Tornado Dragon in rotation, maybe Numerons isn't that great anymore. Not having Bird Call made Farfa's Lyrilusc part really bricky.

Though the moment when you wished so hard the game Heart of the Cards you from that one draw off Extreme Session which somehow turns things around is exhilarating.

Went 11-1 and like every duel was epic as hell for some goddamn reason. Lost to Bystial/Spright/Livetwins once.

This event proved to me that YGO has gotten too damn consistent. I basically never had an unplayable hand. The Bystial Spright game was super winnable but I think I fumbled somewhere. For some reason I don't remember exactly what went wrong. Oh I think I got droll'd actually, and that fucked my PUNK combo

Otherwise I had a 7, 6, and a 10 turn duel, all 3 of those were top deck reliant scrapfest, where I frankly drew like a goddamn protag. I'm pretty sure a top deck contributed to the winning play in all 3 of those games. That's at least the fun of limit 1, but it's not like I put any cards I didn't want to see in there. I liked my build a lot

Also knowing every single PUNK line in existence was nice. I even did things that surprised me. Lots of interesting play arounds that had no good out for a limit 1 type deck

Cleared the L1 event for the gems with branded despia dogmatica.

Lost a few games but mostly because I dont really know how to use branded at all. I just had enough cards of theirs to make a deck. With mirrorjade winning me matchs by himself.

I dunno how, but I faced like 3 Branded focused builds and won against all of them. A lot of tryhard decks in L1 in general, like everybody running Snake Eyes, some doing Kash or R-ACE.

One clutch card for me has always been Nibiru. I somehow saw it in like 3-4 duels and it probably won me the game 3 times

I'm not sure what to use for Limit 1.

The last Limit 1 was Dragon piles, but I guess now I'll do PUNK and Rank 3 piles, or Suship + Utopia Rank 4 piles.

You should just run a Snake Eyes package at minimum. It's too consistent and good. The Links can be used for other decks too anyways

Also PUNKs end board might honestly not hate ending on S:P now. S:P offers a solution against Nibiru and allow you to banish a lvl 8 and Sharakusai til next turn. I've been having that theory all day or whatever, but I dunno how you'd get there easily. I think Horus PUNK can do it cuz it lays a lvl 8 on the field so easily, so all you need is a Sharakusai banished as long as you can end on a lvl 8 on the board

Finished Limit 1 up to 5.5k for the gems with scuffed Dragon Link in one sitting.

My god, that was a horrible experience, though I got a Time Limit win vs Snake-Eyes with Borrelend staring at the opponent's board.

Losing Chaos Ruler is not even worth a blink from us Dragon Linkers, but losing Wyverburster feels like being cut in half, not to mention Chaos Space and Quick Launch still at 2, lol (not that it matters for Limit 1 though).

The thing is, when Deer Note + Wa Gon hit the field that's already five summon.

Terrortop into Taketomborg then overlay into Gossip Shadow seems better against Nibiru, but that gives your opponent a card and god knows what that one card can do.

But S:P gives alternative for end board, yeah. Either ending on Armored Xyz or S:P is viable for me.

Yeah you'd have to find a way to summon S:P first and then do the PUNK stuff. She doesn't need to be summoned with an ED mon. I do want to test with Armored Xyz more. The thing about Nib is like man ppl don't run 3 Nib most of the time on MD. It feels worse to end on a loose board than to somehow find some crazy 4 summon way

I've accepted that if I'm going to get Nibiru'ed, I will make them feel bad that my wombo combo deck only has 1 negate and 1 sucks.

I really do need another Lv 8 option. If I opened all I need (including Extreme Session) without going Dragon Drive I want the Lv 8 to be at least a generic negate stuff.

Dragite really is the clear winner but ugh UR.

I'm telling you, Horus PUNK can work. They're easy lvl 8s that offer other utilities as well. Funny thing is S:P into 2 Horuses can threaten an Apollousa.

The lightest Horus package is 3 Imsety, 1 Hapi, and 2 Sarc.

3 Terrortops + Taketomborg, 3 Psychic Wheeleders + Tracker, Armored Xyz S/T and now thinking of.....3 Zoodiac Whiptails. Of course M-X Saber in extra.

Because Xyz Armor Fortress only requires Rank 3 or 4, you can just Rank-Up M-X Saber to Armor Fortress.

It does, though, have a glaring, mandatory requirement: you cannot drew any of the Armored Xyz cards because Armor Fortress needs to have empty overlay units to be able to be Ranked-Up into FA Dark Knight Lancer.

Does a Zoodiac Drident + a random Zoodiac Xyz enough? Or you need two Zoodiac Xyz apart from Drident?

2 Whiptail is probably enough. Drident and Boarbow should be enough, but you add in one more (or Downerd) if you want a 4 mat Zeus. You Boarbow for a situation where you just want to normal summon Whiptail into a direct attack for Zeus.

M-X Saber into Armor Fortress is a sick move. I want to incorporate it, but to be honest, my initial interest in Armored Xyz was to use my Royal Rare rank 4 armored ray lancer dude.

Downerd is already in list.
Xyz Armor Fortress (2500 ATK Rank 3 beater lol) into Downerd into Zeus is also 4 mats, so I have another option, but Drident + Boarbow + something else maybe is a safe choice.

The left-over two slot can be I:P S:P pair if I don't want to use Horus or S:P + a rank 8, either Hope Harbinger Dragon or Photon Lord, if Horus.

Fusion x Link was a lot more fun than limit 1. Other than the usual Tear trash I has a couple fun matches against Gate Guardian and Unchained. Granted the event is mostly the same but replacing anything you can't use with more handtraps. 5 duels were both of us opening all handtraps and waiting to see who would draw engine.

Finally managed to pull a S:P so I have something to show after 5 10 pulls.

Welp, time to try Invoked DM (featuring Diabellestar).

Gonna try Dragon Link without Borreload Savage Dragon.

Most likely will just end up with Borrelend + I:P.

It's just impossible to end on Hieratic Seal + Borrelend without Wyverburster.

...or Borrelend + Red-Eyes Slash Dragon + PK Fog Blade via Verte Anaconda.

To this day, my win rate in most special duel formats have been like pretty damn high cuz I never use loaners and build weird shit people don't know how to counter.

But to this day, I have a negative win rate with every single build of Invoked or Therions. I know my build can be better, but this deck is so inconsistent on top of having trouble closing out games, as well as putting together, at most, 2 negates.

Yeah 2 negates are good and all, and Mechaba can banish which was clutch a few times. But man, they are not special duel friendly to boot. Mechaba pass is also just not that great

However, I did get a really sick play where I used Augoeides to banish a Mechaba and use the Aleister in my hand in order to get a really beefy attack, which was enough to punch through a Predaplant really really hard for game

Heroes has been putting in work for me for the Fusion x Link event. Currently on a 13 win streak, and only need 4 more wins for the title. Standard Hero decklist too, only with an Elemental Hero Solid Soldier since I have a Royal Rare.

Anyone here played/built a Memento deck? I've played a few duels against the deck and all of them have been really interesting, so now I kind of want to build it. Plus, after looking through the cards in the archetype, almost all of them are SR or below so I can craft the deck on my main account easily without spending any of the gems I'm saving for the Sky Striker alt arts coming soon.

On MasterDuelMeta, the lists I see also include Guardian Chimera (which I don't have on my main account yet) in the extra deck since it can be summoned off of Memento Fusion in a pinch, so that would make 5 UR's I'd need to craft for the deck. That's still pretty cheap though, especially considering the massive amount of UR materials I have stocked up on this account. I'm definitely considering it.

Pulls: Doug went into PUNKs lesgoooo but he didn't pull like amazing per se. He might discover they're good enough as a lvl 3 engine. Having Carp and 3 Shara might be enough. It's rough but it's not bad. Wtf Farfa got a really good Skull Servant base. How did that happen? Gage pulling Jack Jaguar out of pack was enough I guess lol

It still has few more cards from the latest support missing that's supposedly make them better.

Tried the Terrortop 1 card combo into Drident + Xyz Armor Torpedo with Full Armored Xyz set when I wanted to get rid of my daily quest.

One card combo that does okay stuff felt kinda nice.

Even if you can't rank up to Xyz Armor Fortress due to hard drawing one of the Armored Xyz S/T, you can just use M-X Saber into I:P or S:P link because PUNK at least left someone free on the board.

These loaner decks are pretty stupid. You have to laugh that eldlitch runs all the floodgates but doesn't even play the eldlitch fusion monster. The solo modes don't even give anything. But just to be sure you're always underpowered they have maxx c and ash at 2 in all of them. Actually they made sure not to give Eldlitch maxx c so they know its head and shoulders above the other 2 decks...

Like they could have had a ranked mode that only allows the loaners or an event with actual rewards instead of this. The Swordsoul deck they gave away was way better than this.

I copied an Runick Earthbound Archfiend FTK from a guy I saw on a stream, for this event. Hoo boy what a fucking stinker of a deck. I literally got 3 wins off just the Runick mills and grind game before I got the FTK off. The FTK that I managed to do was literally just a miracle. I cannot describe the unlikeliness of the combo that had happened, but let's just say the exact flow of events that was needed was that he needed to Ash my first Hugin search and then try to destroy a card on my field, or Hugin.

Well it let me discard rollback and Earthbound Release for free via the 2nd Hugin summoned to discard another card, to which then I was able to activate Nightmare Archfiends, tribute my second Hugin, which then summoned 3 tokens. I activate the Rollback in the GY in response and copy Earthbound Release to wipe his board for well over 8k LP

Yeah occasionally I don't dismantle for the possibility they come to a higher number. Jet to 2 isn't really gonna do that much for the deck, but Adventure getting some buff helps
