To address some concerns that have been presented to us throughout the last 18 months, we are taking some steps starting today to enhance our rules and guidelines and provide further commentary, resources, and documentation to empower our moderators and community members. By promoting consistency in moderation and addressing specific issues such as hornyposting, ban/purg evasion, and trolling we aim to create a more welcoming and inclusive space for all users.

Maybe the "issue" is there isn't enough hornyposting? Can we get some clarification?

Mabus set the bar pretty high so we'll have to see from there.

They did lock the threads.

Though, it could be the problem with moderators pointing out you can name certain kinds of sites now a couple weeks back. Might be a rollback of that particular interpretation since people probably abused it in their eyes.

I mean, the one line doesn't specifically say hornyposting is gone, it says it's been addressed. Was it addressed by the rules being changed, or was it addressed by making CE private? Has any of the staff actually said it's gone?

I get here stupid ads about online gambling and body painting.

I never visited a single gambling page once, and never did a sport bet.

Yet I get these ads right into my face here.

So please don't act like that getting ads is my fault, when it's gamefaqs that show me such questionable stuff.

Edit: Now it's a (fine, harmless, inoffensive, SFW) ad about a car repair shop, pretty close to my location.

I don't even have a licence, and therefore simply no interest in cars. So, yeah, what the hell is me seeing these ads "telling about myself?"

Yeah, I'm with Karvo, that really makes no sense. Even if they were perfectly targeted ads, it's still hypocritical for gamefaqs to allow them.

Agree. I don't really see why it's a big problem in the first place as long as it isn't targeted at other users; but if you're gonna ban it, be consistent and get rid of ads that would violate it too.

They had a few instances of a very nefarious ad that took over the entire site a few months ago, it got through a few blockers. It returning shows they dont really care.

BTW, the offensive rule on the ToU is waaaaay too vague. What is and isn't offensive is highly subjective. Photos of feces in a toilet? A photo of a cowpie in a pasture? Photo of a manure pile? Pics of madura foot? A boxer with a bloody face? A photo of a urine specimen? A hunter posing with his kill? The poop emoji? A medical/health class illustration on pre-and post-pubescent sex characteristics in males and females? A youtube video of a guy consuming a live insect? Telling people that you banged someone last night? A topless woman breastfeeding her infant? (which absolutely should NOT be against the ToU BTW), Asking for info about genital herpes because you're afraid you might have it? "No Nut November" threads? Topics about crime/mass shootings/the busting of a child sex trafficking ring? What about that ancient ol' pic of the highway roadkill that was painted over?
Those are ALL offensive to some people, and not to others. So what are Gamefaq's rules about each of the above? Gamefaqs used to have a rather in-depth ToU, and now it's only a few friggin' sentences, WTF?

There's nothing ignorant about a Gamefaqs moderator being arrogant enough to talk about the entire world. Especially one controlled by a shitty company like Fandom.

According to moderator Jordan_AS, this is hornyposting:

If it sexualizes a person or character, that constitutes horny posting. So if you make a topic saying Asuka is really hot and post a picture of her in a bathing suit, that's gonna get deleted. Now if you say she's really beautiful and post a tasteful picture of her, my understanding is that should be fine although another mod is free to correct me on that.

Oh, and it gets moderated under "Offensive" which means it'll garner severe penalties (likely 10kl for the first offense, possible warning for 3rd, purg for 4th. And if you made multiple posts? Yeah, that basically amounts to an auto-purg) What a bunch of bullshit.

I miss the days of NKL so users have a fair chance to understand a rule. With the whole "give everyone a warning/suspension" situation going on people don't much of a chance to defend themselves and those moderations stay on your record for much longer now.
