Got an example? I'm guessing you are referring to the Netflix Avatar, but Sokka absolutely changed. Only it happened over the course of like an hour long episode instead of 4 20 minute episodes.
He didn't watch it.

What kind of bookstores does this guy go to?

It's a gal and probably something like barnes and nobles. I've seen some of those spaces in the ones near me.

Most of the most profitable anime is made for young boys. That's what shonen means

There are stuff like Miyazaki and Makoto Shinkai that aren't shonen.

Anyway, just saw that hazbin hotel, which is a bit more than Shonen, seems to have done pretty well in Japan too.

That's honestly crazy that Japan likes Hazbin Hotel that much. Considering a lot of my anime only watching friends greatly dislike Hazbin Hotel for its art style.

That's likely because it doesn't look like the 500 anime they watch that are practically indistinguishable from one another. My best friend is hardcore into anime and every single time I'm over there it looks like he's watching the exact same damn thing.

Well yeah, they all have manga spaces, but I have never in my life seen a store where it was more than like a couple of shelves to maybe a whole aisle if the bookstore is just enormous.

I've seen a few aisles but now that you mention it, taking up the majority of the bookstore seems a bit tall. I assume she's referring to just a section like the front of a shop or something.

The CGI arts are ugly. Will never understand why our animation here decided to do that.

..... Actually, I know why. Saving money. It's a disgusting art style and not at all fun or engaging. Just 3d character blobs.

That's the attitude that kills creativity especially in America, everything is bogged down to smas much money as possible as cheap as possible and as quickly as possible it's gambling with extra steps. I bet these fuckers can't wait til ai chat becomes mainstream so they can flood the entertainment industry with crap hoping one of those will become a hit with even less risks and bigger rewards

I buy a lot of manga but even the sizable manga section one of my Barnes & Nobles has, it definitely isn't a majority of the store...

The other Barnes & Nobles I go to has the manga section right up front and it looks pretty big fron a glance so I guess something like that would lead to some confusion...

Very True.

They always seem to want to "Leave their own Spin" on things.

Which is not what the Anime consumer ever wants.

It's a joke. Isekai is just an oversaturated genre that most people are sick of yet casuals seem to lap up like Battle Royales in gaming. Dante's Inferno and Alice in Wonderland are the Isekais ahead of their time.

it's pretty accurate. Isekai started well enough, but then every new anime had to be an isekai. It's over-saturated and getting more ridiculous every season. Fortunately, it does seem the fatigue is setting in and we're starting to get new anime that qualifier.

Just touched on this in the favorite director thread (Kurosawa, Scorsese, Kubrick, and the Hitch)

anime & manga is a whole different ballgame from film, but there's definitely a correlation

Anyone into British television? There are masters of the craft, and then there's what the British and Japanese do. Which is two totally opposite things haha. For example, I think British adventures just tend to be a little more earthy, and homey. They take after the world around them, following in kind suit. From what I've observed, in Japan, it's the opposite. The streets are new and it's the world that follows the example of their modern dreams. This process is often reflected as media starts in manga form, then is adapted into an anime, and later live action.... all the while influencing real fashion trends, architecture, etc

Meant to add, it's exciting , unquote

Really? Every time I watch a anime I got into from a manga, they always cut a lot of stuff out so they can cram as many story arcs as possible into a 10-12 episode season.

Apparently Spy X Family Code White which is in limited release was #5 at the US box office this weekend.

I miss the family spy genre. I remember there used to be a bunch of movies like that like the Pacifier and Central Intelligence. I think the family plan was a recent one.
