Did you see they repeated the exact same mistake with DToast that they made 3 years ago with the Community manager for MGE Wikia and then just yesterday DToast is in the feedback thread suggesting other users to abuse him more.

Fucking company trying to act concerned about Trust and Safety in the community when they can't even be bothered to put forward the bare minimum safety for their own employees.

I'm astounded that DToast isn't furious about it.

He's not furious because he wanted people to insult and abuse him.

They were going to use it as further justification to close off CE in it's entirety, so they could go back to their boss and say "See, we can't trust them and they're a safety issue. We cannot stand for this toxicity and would like your approval to eliminate that board."

Luckily, they didn't count on us being smarter than them. So now they have to think of another way.

Yeah, I gotta say.. That reasoning in that message is just so pathetic that whoever decided typed that out, looked at it, and said "This is good." needs a switch kick in the ass. Unless they are doing it out of spite to bring to light a problem, in which case bravo.

I'd like to think I'm a decent person who doesn't really cause waves, especially if my mod and post history is anything to go by..Think I've had only 2 moderations over the entire course I've been on this website..

But if this is a sign of the level of petty strictness it's going to become, I worry about my future here.

I have a very vocal voice in my head that lashes out against stupid authority decisions, and is why I have never had even the slightest desire to visit resetera. It's just a shame.

I'm all for civility and common sense, but when it begins to border on the line of "You must think and act in this one way", and with more and more topics being forbidden for discussion..Well, I imagine they'll get their wish to shut this board down sooner rather than later.

This is like, the first and only time I've bothered even commenting on this stuff since the takeover, but damn. They just railing it through toward the grave, ain't they.

It should be fine to have reasonable conversations about a character or person's outfit so long as it's not objectifying, sexualizing, or disruptive.

This is the issue with some of the mods here. They align so strongly with whatever new rules come about even if theyre completely ambiguous. They regurgitate whatever they thinks sounds right without any thought or context to what it can be interpreted as. They ignore knowing fully well that not all the mods understand what that rule even means and will go on a power trip anytime anything with a photo is posted.

TLDR, stop drinking the kool aid. Itll go to your head.

When a Mod is agreeing with you and on your side, don't be an asshole and treat them like shit because you want to be the "down with the man!" screeching type. Jesus. Direct your ire toward the top that isn't giving any valuable input or direction, and making the public facing mods suffer the abuse.

It's like working retail. The person at the register isn't making the rules, and is just trying to figure out things as they come.

Youre not wrong and I know that mods are very busy from all this, so that particular one most likely didn't see my response, but it's worth putting up again as it immediately became an issue. It was at best incredibly naive to think otherwise

I don't think that's what people are saying exactly but you also cannot blame the users for reacting poorly to you suggesting disputing that moderation whatever it was. If anything it just makes it so this new rule is even less clear, and that was a really fucking low bar to begin with.

I think what's worse is that you probably can post screenshots from the game but you can't say anything about it.

If it's just a screenshot with no comment it's within the context of it being a video game but then if you comment on a character deliberately designed to be attractive now it's suddenly hornyposting.

That's at least what I get from that Balthier topic, like everyone posts pictures of him with scantily clad Fran in the background with no issues, but me calling Balthier (not even Fran!) hot got me a moderation.

As mods, you have the ability to nullify bad moderations if the user disputes it by having the majority of mods vote to overturn it. Use this ability to nullify bad rules by always voting to overturn it.
