I've done a tour with a band from Montreal Canada all the way out to Vancouver Island (again, still Canada), then went as far south as Medford Oregon only to drive back through the states to return to Montreal (did some gigs in between, obviously).

It took us three weeks, so whatever the hell that is in KM.

When I personally drove from Dallas to Chicago.

All the other states I've traveled to (on land), I either rode on travel busses or carpooled with friends/coworkers.

The one that springs to mind was a 48 hour drive from Michigan to Tennessee for a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway up through Virginia and back. About 1500 miles in two days.

When I was in the Navy a few times I went home with friends to where they were from. About 13 hours of driving one way was the longest where it was worth it for a long weekend.

Had a good friend who got out of the Navy and was from Texas El Paso. We were in Norfolk Virginia. Him and his brother came to visit us and he drove straight through. 2,000 miles. 30 hours straight. I was happy to see him, he surprised us but I was like fuck that. I would have flown. He stayed like 3 days then they had to get back. Thats a long ass drive.

Depending on how you count it:

longest without returning home: probably tens of thousands of miles between summer of 07 and thanksgiving of 07, but it involved a lot of waiting at truck stops between deliveries and sleeping in my van.
In one day: probably from here (TN) to austin, TX, which is just under a thousand miles. Left first thing in the morning, got there late at night.
Over a couple of days: probably green bay WI to whichever border town in TX that i drove to. It was one of the trips I made in 2007 as a OTR delivery driver.

I wish I was that trusting. I have a hard time letting my helpers and workers use my service trucks. Lol They know the rules.

Yeah, well, my employer is kinda cool like that, doesn't seem to care about material damages. I've seen a co worker drive the front end of a forklift into a company car and he was just like '*shrug* shit happens'

Recently drove 7 hours casually, back on Good Friday, not really going anywhere.

Farthest south was Morris Plains, NJ
Farthest north was Wayawanda, NY
Farthest west was Milford, PA
Farthest east was Englewood, NJ

It was just a bunch of random driving in the general area. I got into PA via I-84 in NY so I never paid a toll or anything.

With me actually doing the driving? Roughly 200 miles (3.5 hours) up to my gf's hometown.

But the longest time I've spent in the car, was when my mom drove us from Los Angeles up to Lake Tahoe, at the Northern California/Nevada border. And that was roughly 490 miles (7.75 hours).
