If she said we partied, then I'm pretty sure we partied. I really don't remember. I remember we departed from our bodies.

Even the Famicom (Japanese NES) had a modem connection you could use. I think it was mostly used for some horse race betting system. But it was impressive for the 80s

i think Japan was ahead of the curve for a while on network tech. Pretty sure I remember cellphones were a decent ways ahead of everyone else in the 90s and 00s, to the point where they could treat e-mail as a pseudo text message. In the US that level was mostly just for business and professionals

All those G-Mode game you see on the eshop and Steam are from 2000s era phones. They were ahead before iphones happened.

I still remember being on serebii website and they had a page on how to get celebi, and I was obsessed with getting it. They never properly clarified that if we didn't have the Japanese pokemon crystal, we needn't bother.

Stuff like event only pokemon in very specific countries in very specific cities at very specific time frames in the early 2000s is what contributed to me hating and subsequently dropping pokemon. If online trade was around in our time, who knows I may have stuck around as far gen 4, if not further.
