I really don't get paying thousands of dollars just to have access to a private golf course or tennis courts or a swimming pool. Even if the restaurant is really nice I don't see it justifying the price tag.

Status symbol perhaps? Some people are like that

In my grandma's hometown their is a rich neighborhood like mini mansions or so shit and I've heard from many people that a lot of those houses if you go inside only thr living room is truly furnished like in the bed room just a mattress on thr floor and cardboard box as a night stand.

It's because of the fee. The amenities are nice but more importantly, no poor people are going to wander in.

Not without a uniform, anyway.

You just listed the appeal. Its private. It has everything. Its really nice.

You ever go to community pools, or public golf courses, or community anythings? Im not with any country club and dont really see that changing, but if I had money I would absolutely find one and itd be worth every dime.

The nature of the fees & target demographic means that they're usually quite nice, but like a lot of rich people stuff, a lot of it is from the exclusivity & status that comes with being within that circle.
