i got super lucky and picked up a 4-day pass during the general sale, so i got it for face. it was $650 or so after fees + taxes

the thing cost $2.3B to build. while i would definitely like another one, preferably close to the east coast, i doubt it happens.

i've been seeing Phish since 2003 and their tickets haven't been $15 in a really long time. i think my '03 tickets were like $50 or something after fees.

my tickets to see them in Grand Rapids this summer were $210 for 2 nights.

I'm not familiar with Phish's work outside of the one Simpsons episode they guest-starred in and their reputation as a band for stoners. Is it true that one needs to be inebriated in some way to appreciate their music, or can it still be enjoyed even while stone-cold sober?

the guy i sat next to for all four nights was stone-cold sober the whole run and he had a blast. he said he's only smoked weed a couple of times and just doesn't enjoy it much. he said he has eaten mushrooms before and did have fun, but wouldn't do that out in public.

that said, a lot of the fan base does partake in substances, especially at the shows.

it's basically prog-rock with some long sections of improvisation. here's one of my favorite shows:

i'm normally a 'bob and sway' kinda dancer, but when im trippin at a show i can get pretty expressive.

Panic is tight but i don't know them that well and have never seen 'em.

Ya, that's 90's prices.
Phish hasn't been that cheap in a long while.

They actually used to play a small bar in my town, on the party street back in the day, I bet the cover was like $3.00. I wasn't even 21 yet. But people used to listen outside.

No that is three hours or so away...
Though I have been past it. It's right next to the Park in Burlington.
Right around the corner is R R, an Irish Pub.

But yes, I have visited The Mountains that the lizard people are from.

No, in my case it was a place in town. About a 15 minute walk.
The Bar was called Icoe's (SP?)...But it was often called Phycos.
Their matches had a Steely on it. So I suppose it was when Phish still had a real Grateful Dead cover band aspect.

But ya, that road was sketchy back when I was like 16-19.
There are double digits worth of Bars in a tiny place.
This would have been in the 90's.
Phish where still pretty obscure at that time, though I had a friend in Highshool who turned me on to them.
