If I had to guess they have a standard walll texture with ocassional graffiti they spread over the walls and didn't notice the interaction, probably because they had been spreading it over walls for hours and had gotten to the point they were just scanning for graphical glitches, missing that

Same. I watch tons of sleeze, so when I see something that's R rated but really pushes the boundaries of the rating, I refer to it as a "hard R". As opposed to something like The Matrix or The Conjuring, which I call "soft R".

Isn't this a Korean made game? Chances are they had no idea there was any controversy regarding racial slurs. Doubt it was intentional. Bet some westerner saw it, asked them to remove it, and they were probably like "huh? That's offensive? Okay, yeah whatever, no problem."

The reasonable take that should end the issue:

1) That was definitely unintentional

2) Removing it is a good call, even if it's not in your face for some it could cause some unintentional offense to someone else

3) Nobody actually cares about the placement of a standard repeated graphics tile and nothing of value was lost by moving them

Removing an unintended message is perfectly normal.

My take as well on this. Even if you're 100% anti-censorship this isn't something that was planned and removed because of some kind of "woke-agenda." I'd be more upset by removing the high res pinups from Tomb Raider HD that were in the original game than this.

Same here. Earlier someone ITT talked about how people are going to pretend not knowing what it means, but I sincerely never heard of this and literally had to have this topic explain it to me. Tbh I'm still not sure I get it, but I guess if enough people agree that it's offensive and it was edited out, then good for everyone I guess.

that's your problem and assumption. Many walks of life, we come from. As a asian american I was not familiar with this nor do I have my ear to the ground 100% regarding the black american experience. Not my sphere of expertise sorry.

Personally, I still think 'hard R' is kind of an odd way to describe it and 'hard N' would make more sense, but I guess it's an American/English-speaking culture thing that just happened to develop that way. Same way how the expression "The end...or is it?" makes no sense to me, as it actually means "The end...or isn't it (the end)?"

I'm probably making no sense and CE will just end up calling me a troll or something, but hopefully a few people will get what I'm trying to say and that I don't mean to cause any offense. It's just that I honestly never encountered the phrase 'hard R' before, so I had no clue what all the fuss was about. I do now.

It's because we're differentiating between the "soft a" version of the word that is commonly used by black Americans today, and the more racially charged epithet "hard r" we all know about. They both have a "hard n", so that term wouldn't do anything for trying to distinguish one from the other.
