In one of my stories, Ive made an anthropomorphic character, and I enjoy bringing my characters to life using AI. For the most part no one sees them but me. However previously, tools like Dall-E struggled with this task. Now, the results are really good. Yet, it seems other software still faces difficulties in this area. For those adept in AI, any insights into why this might be the case would be appreciated.

Ive noticed on the CE that some folks offer to create AI art for others. When I ask them to make an anthropomorphic character, the results are often disappointing, looking more like humans in awkward costumes. Its a stark contrast to the quality Ive seen elsewhere, where the AI art is much more appealing. I kind of feel like a jerk for talking about people efforts like this. Note for all those who helped me out this isn't a dig at you, it trying to understand AI better.

Maybe try referencing something commonly known that is similar to what you want so the ai can pick up on it
