Yeet the baby

I forget if I played it but i remember watching someone play it in like 2002 or 2003.

I didn't actually experience the full game until Super Mario 64 DS <_<

1996. I followed online reports of people who played it early. I remember reading a text only description from someone who was not allowed to take pictures or video, but was allowed to play a demo. They couldn't even enter the castle. All they did was run around in the courtyard. But their description of how Mario moves was so exciting to me

My dad took me multiple towns over to locate a launch n64 when it came out

I played it on launch day at my friend's house. That game was very mesmerizing. I think it was the only game we played that day besides maybe a bit of Pilot Wings.

I think it was at launch. It was the reason I bought a N64.

The Zelda 64s were both release day purchases. The gold editions.

It would have been late 97 or early 98. I didn't get Mario 64 right away when I got an N64, I got Goldeneye first instead.

I remember struggling with one of those displays and talking to a friend at school, who told me you're supposed to press the Z button.

"Z button? What Z button?"

I was holding it by the left and right handles, you see. Did any games actually use that kind of grip? Seems like a decent idea that nobody used for some reason.

Some of the side-scrolling used the left one.

Except for me. I used the left and right grip for every single N64 game I played. Never once used the middle grip.
