As a huge fan of the novel, and largely prefer it over the movie, there is just so many content here that the movie omitted that they can stretch it out to many seasons, and even spawn several spin-offs from it. Luca Brasi spin-off? Yes please. But since it's the Godfather with Pacino, Brando, Caan, Cazale, DeNiro, etc, directors/producers/writers are probably afraid to touch it. What a shame.

And make it an anime

Maybe a prequel series between the Vito sections of Part II and the first movie. Show how The Corleones really rises to become the top crime family, Sonny's rise including the scene in the novel where he tells Vito he saw him shoot Don Fannuchi. The GF version of the Castllemarase War including Luca taking care of Al Capone's two hitmen with an axe, more of Clemenza, Tessio, and Frank Pantangelli. If done right it could be great. I need a 20s/30s gangster show fix after Boardwalk Empire ended.

If it's a series version of the book, they should still take out the Lucy Mancini big vagina parts.
