Sometimes with remakes, people are like oh this is great because I missed it the first time around

It's not like games are comets, they come out and continue to exist

Just go play it

Not every game is available on modern consoles. So you either need to spend potentially large amounts of money on original hardware, or go sailing.

A lot of people aren't going to go back and play a 20-30 year old game a lot of the time either, and while most of the reasons for this aren't very good, I do get it. Going back to awful visuals or dated gameplay mechanics can feel bad.

My taste is pretty narrow and I've overlooked games for all sorts of dumb reasons, only to end up really enjoying them later

It's very easy, considering a hundred+ games come out every year, and many fly under people's radar.

There's been at least a dozen games that I never even heard of that were then offered for free on PS Plus that ended up becoming some of my favorite games to play.

Sometimes things fly under the radar (Dragon's Dogma, first played 2022)

Other times I don't have a taste for the game until somebody or something enlightens me (Soulsborne, first played 2019)

They didn't play it.

This is really simple.

I've literally had the Fallout Games on Steam for like a decade and just got around to playing them.

It can depend. In my late 20s I played most of the classic Megan series foe the first time Megamall x also, metroid series outside 3d ones kid icarus and a few others and truly enjoyed them. Well I probably wouldn't haven't given a shit about kid icarus had I not played uprising first.

The biggest one was castlevania especially symphony of the night. I played the others first and they where fun but when I booted up sotn I just had this feeling it was gonna be amazing cause I already knew of the games popularity.

But then there is like old school rpgs I can start them and enjoy them but I always burn out before I finish. Have started and failed to finish multiple Phantasy Star games for example. Also earthbound

I was just plugging my GameCube for the first time in many years and it's annoying even playing stuff you loved. The left joystick is sticky and deteriorating. Some of the games don't hold up to snuff. I'd rather sell off half this collection.

Install Dolphin.

Not the same context, but I'm "missing" Helldivers 2 right now, given it's actively changing over time.
