I'm talking about any game that has real-time combat like Elden Ring and Call of Duty.

Both of the aforementioned games I've used strategy to counter like lack of reflexive ability. In Call of Duty, I've approached it with a "clear the way" strategy by gearing myself to break enemy equipment like crazy.

I've been able to knock out VTOLs and other crap in various games simply by using LMGs with equipment-breaking rounds and Rocket Launchers that can smash just about anything.

But is that all common or does action games let people avoid strategy for the most part? I'm not sure, so that's why I'm asking.

most games allow for multiple ways to be viable with varying degrees of skill or safety associated with them. This is either via your weapon loadout or build, or even the map/arena will provide you with elements you can use to approach the fight from a literally different angle/strat.

A game with literaly zero strategy elements (PURE ACTION! GOOOOO) gets stale pretty quickly, like some dual stick shooters.
