OOOOOOOOOO here we go! (show has an Office vibe)

The first thing you need to know is that the show doesn't actually start until a scene where April asks if Ron is ready. Everything before that moment doesn't count. Everything after that moment is when it actually begins.

Season 1 is pretty bad but the first few seasons is the only time Tom is a good character.

KEEP IN MIND that most people agree the show doesnt really hit its stride until Ben and Chris join the cast at the end of season 2. I and many others thought the show was not that good until then.

It gets much better about half way through the second season and then stays consistently good for the rest of the run, enjoy!

While I agree it gets better with time, I stop around season 7 or so. It suffers the fate of adding romance and drama after a while like so many sitcoms.

First season is rough but the second season is much better and season 3 - 5 are some of the funniest around. I find that it consistently is funnier than the office

While I agree that peak Parks is after Ben and Chris become permanent cast members I still do enjoy a number of episodes from the start with Mark. Also it tends to be better when they decided to keep Andy because originally he was only supposed to be there in the beginning and then they were going to to move on but decided to make him a more involved permanent character too.

I had a cable channel that would air reruns of this from like 0900 to the early afternoon everyday during the week. I could watch an entire season in like 3 days. You would go through the whole series in a few weeks. I did this over and over and over again watching the complete series like honestly about 7 or 8 times in a row.

I have since stopped doing that for still flip over for an episode here or there. I just loved that show.

I wish I knew why people thought that season 1 was something akin to pouring lava on your scrotum but I've never got it.

It's still pretty funny and well done. It's the weakest, yes, but goddamn people make it seems like it's some fuckin freakish thing that needs to be slayed with holy water and a wooden stake and cast into ash at the bottom of the fastest moving river you can find.

It's very meh and clearly just trying to be the office. That's why people are sour on it, it's not until the finale it starts to feel like it's own thing. It is just a worse office and I honestly skip season 1 on re watches because 2 is just instantly so much better.

Yeah honestly I enjoy season 1 more than season 7. Season 7 I don't like Chris and Ann not being permanent cast members and a number of story decisions.

Besides season 1 takes a lot of heat and it is only 6 episodes. It sets the stage for the show and goes by so fast I don't mind it.

Season 1 is pretty good imo, but the jump in quality afterwards is pretty insane

I actually liked Mark

The early seasons are great. They just arent what the later seasons are.

I mean it's fine, but it really is just The Office in a different setting and none of the characters are actually the same characters they are in the rest of the show. Leslie is just Michael Scott but a woman, Ron wears a suit to work???, Tom is just there, Andy is a worthless piece of shit, and so on

Season 1 is honestly good.

Leslie is VERY competent. She just doesnt know how to lead people in S1.
