It's amazing. People from everywhere.

People of all backgrounds, religions, orientations, and political ideology come together to be miserable at the hellhole known as the DMV.

Word of mouth has taught me which DMB locations to avoid, so I usually have pretty easy experiences there. The "DMV sucks" bit seems like a meme.

I was sort of thinking about this recently when renewing my passport. for some reason (actually now that I think about it the reason is pretty obvious), the demographic variety in the passport renewal office is way higher than anywhere else I've noticed in the city

Most people really have no sense of perspective for this, though.

Everybody whines about the DMV, even in places where it takes like fifteen minutes or less to get through the line.

I've had business there when the line was halfway across the park, when they weren't even open yet. It was the result of an absurd embezzlement scandal while ultimately resulted in, among many other things, half a million people sharing six lanes at the DMV.

To my knowledge, it's still that way, though I left that place years ago.
