Trekking through the wasteland ATM. Awesome game so far. Beautiful, combat is fun, although I still suck at parry/dodging timing sometimes, even with the easier to X upgrades.

What builds are y'all using so far? Currently just using the chain attack upgrades. I want to use the exospine thats crit based and does an AOE on crits but still need mats for the last upgrade.

What builds are y'all using so far?

2 attack speed gears, +Damage -Defense gear, fixed damage combo gear, combo damage spine. Just going all out on damage and not caring about defense

I'm also in the Wasteland for the first time, I can blatantly see the Nier influence in all of this. I was watching a streamer I like play it earlier and he was just shitting on it all and chat was aping it like little drones, it was wild. I don't understand why people think it's trash, but 7/10 - 8/10 is the perfect score for it. Weird voice acting, simplistic story that is not really new, and characters that just kind of react to stuff in a weird way are my biggest issues.

The combat is a lot of fun and I've died a bunch in the Wasteland. I am impressed and need to utilize my arsenal more cause I get upgrades that I never use like counter attacks and such. Need to stop focusing on dodging and get my ass in there like Bloodborne and Sekiro.

I just got the third slot unlocked so I have a Shield Damage, Attack Speed and Fixed Damage Increase. Kind of wish there was a bit more to customize and tinker with to really get some builds going, as I have a maxed out Chain Attack Exospine and I don't see a need to change it. Maybe the defense one at some point.

How tough is the game? I hear it's parry-based like Sekiro.

Still playing through rise if the ronin at the moment, but I'm willing to add stellar to my backlog.

It's not bad I just historically suck at action games. Always have my whole life.

It's...okayish. Just need to get parry timing down and, oddly enough, I feel like it rewards aggressive gameplay. Some bosses I've died to because I play too passive and when I decide to nut up and be more aggressive, I end up beating in a few more tries.

For me getting parry timing down feels a lot weirder than Sekiro. In Sekiro you fight a lot of humanoid enemies whereas in this one you fight monsters and a few humanoid-ish ones. Parrying monsters just feels odd to me for some reason

I'll give it a shot, but I agree that parrying non-humanoid enemies always feels off regardless of the game. It's why I will never like demon of hatred in Sekiro.

Also I finally upgraded the impact exospine all the way and it feels...underwhelming? Maybe because I haven't truly faced any big swarms yet or something. Went +crit rate +atk spd +bonus beta energy recharge. I was hoping that even facing single enemies, the crit explosions would help with more damage and maybe hitstunning enemies. Maybe I just need more crit gear

Yeah I just...ignore all that censorship bs. Does it suck that the devs kinda walked back on their word that there'd be no censorship? Yeah kinda. But there are so many...tasteful outfits anyways lol. All that discussion blowing up reminds me of when Dragons Dogma 2 got so much flak for day 1 micro transactions when none of them really affected the game lol

Oh that guy was suspended, which is good. It sucks cause I like this game not because I am using it as horny bait, I just like how the combat feels and vibe with the music and style. The story is whatever and characters are just there but I'm in it for the fun Sekiro like combat.

To see literally no one talking about that but just this censorship stuff is sad. Game isn't a 10/10, but 7 or 8 would be my opinion right now.

The tells are obvious. Very little attacks (so far at least) where there's little or no windups. It's just disconcerting to me because I'm so used to more humanoid enemies in these parry type of games.

Also Kaya feels so...uncanny valley to me for some reason. I know a lot of the characters are, but she just...Idk

Finally got the 4th gear slot. Using a beta skill build and the triple air slash is just putting in WORK
