Yah, got it because of Howard some 10+ years ago. Ive been meaning to cancel for a little while now but for some reason keep thinking itll get better. When he takes his summer vacation Ill cancel unless they give me that $5 deal or something.

and hes probably not the biggest star, or if he is its probably not by much. Andy Cohen is probably bigger.

I do. I'm not sure if I'll renew though. The only reason I resubscribed last year was that it came with a free subscription to Stitcher Premium and I paid the exact price of 1 year of Stitcher so it was worth it to have both subscriptions. Then a week after I re-subscribed they announced that Stitcher was being shuttered. They also shuttered the Sirius channel, Volume, which was the one I listened to the most. Now I barely listen to Sirius at all although I did listen to the Howard interview the other day with Pearl Jam and that was excellent. I've got an Apple Music subscription so outside of Howard, I can get everything I want to listen to from that and without the insane repetition that Sirius Channels have because they stupidly run it like terrestrial radio.

yeah supposedly many people think stern is like the best celebrity interviewer. Guess he doesn't push the limits as much with celeb guests anymore.

Yeah, I got a free 3 month trial after getting some car work done, and then it transitioned to a $5/month plan for the following year. However, it's going to expire in July, and since I only listen to one station (Watercolors), I'm debating on whether or not to keep it since if I do, it's going up to $23/month.

They make it as inconvenient as possible to cancel too. You have to speak to a "care co-ordinator" because they hope people will just give up and accept the new rate. You can at least do it by chat now, before they used to make you call in. When you cancel and they ask just tell them you don't listen that much and you'd only resubscribe at the rate you're currently paying. They will try to give you lower rates that aren't as low as you're currently paying but if you just say no again, most of the time they will give you your current rate as a "one time courtesy". Every once in a while you'll get a rep who refuses to do that and that's when you cancel. A few weeks later you'll get something in the mail offering you the $5 a month that you were paying and you can just start again. It would be nice if they just cut the bullshit and give you the deal to begin with but I guess they get enough people who think the "lower rate" that isn't $23 a month is a good deal.

I got a XM in 2004. I've been a subscriber since then. XM was better.

Still, my sat radio is my primary entertainment. I listen to it more than I watch TV.

More info

XM did music way better than Sirius. I mainly bought it for music. The merger with Sirius degraded many of the music stations and their much wider playlists. Sirius focused more on talk and entertainment stations with famous people crossovers.

SiriusXM is so much better than FM radio. However, from a strictly music standpoint, it is not as good as it used to be. They're really pushing podcasts and famous people sponsored entertainment and music branded channels now. Really a disappointment.

However, it is amazing for sports. I pay for the NFL package. I get all the NHL games, MLB, and NBA games too. I get a lot from that. I also think there are still a few great DJs left, especially on the emerging music and indie music stations as well.

My favorite music blogger ever, Carles (the guy who ran hipster runoff) I found through his program on Sat radio.

Definitely agree with this. I loved XM and had a subscription. Sirius dropped my two favorite channels with the merger. One was a Soundtrack channel that played scores and music from movies and the other was a British channel that played a lot of rock and pop songs.

Only been to New York twice. Andy is huge with Bravo, his Sirius channel is 102 I believe. All the housewives and bravo shows are him. I think its like $25 a month, way way way too much.
