This topic will be for this year's election in the UK which is going to take place tomorrow. What do you think will happen?

The elections tomorrow are just local and mayoral. We'll probably have a general election later this year, but it isn't tomorrow.

True, but every election counts. Local and mayoral races shouldn't be discounted since small ripples can contribute to even bigger waves for positive change.

A lot of people don't bother voting in local elections, which is strange considering you're electing the people who can most make a difference in your every day life.

My prediction? Labour make huge gains across the country at the expense of the Conservatives. All cities where there will be a mayoral election will vote for a Labour candidate.

Unhappy Conservative MPs will see this as a reason to replace Rishi Sunak with someone else, but it's like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Especially leading into a GE later this year.

There is one by-election, in Blackpool South, following the resignation of former Tory MP Scott Benton.

Bad night for the Tories.

They lost Blackpool South to Labour with a swing of 26%. Right wing party Reform UK came in third, only narrowly behind the Conservatives - which should worry them as it's splitting the right wing vote.

As for local elections, votes are still being counted but Conservatives have lost over 100 councillors to other parties. No mayoral results as of yet.

LONDON (AP) Britains governing Conservative Party suffered heavy losses in local election results Friday, further cementing expectations that the Labour Party will return to power after 14 years in a U.K. general election that will take place in the coming months.

Labour won control of councils in England that the party hasnt held for decades, and was successful in a special election for a seat in Parliament.

If those results are repeated in the general election, it would lead to one of the Conservatives biggest-ever defeats.
