Also When Persona or any SMT umbrella game came out it is was always SMT: that. Even Persona 4 came out being officially called Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4. It's around that time where that stopped being a thing. I don't even know if I am getting SMT V: Vengeance yet, probably. I got Persona 3R sooner than I expected because of a Best Buy flash sale, but sometimes I just don't feel motivated. P3R is fun on hard on PS4 and runs flawlessly.....but I just stopped playing it for the time being. --- "A lesser talent couldn't have pulled it off. But I'm willing to bet on BoJack Horseman. But it does seem like they filled out more of the story and is getting some better early press. Zikten 1 had a brief English port that was removed (like you said) not sure why. I really liked 2, I was playing it on ZSNES lol and still have my old save game, but got lost in a backtracking mess and completely forgot where to go. SMT II has a really cool feel. Also fwiw SMT 1 got a fan translation for the PSX. I have it but never bothered to try it much. Just eh I know everything about SMT 1. Its just going through menus and choosing to fuse a monster with another to make the next better one. I always thought Hydrox were a crappy knock off of Oreos. Anyhow. I don't want to say anything bad about Pokemon. I just wasn't at the age/timeframe to get into it and the hype surpassed me, but I prefer a little more story in my monster collecting even if it's vague. I didn't do the research but SMT had Devil Children in Japan and Dragon Quest Monsters came out before Pokemon? Either way, ya don't have to be first you just have to make the biggest impression. I guess if you were to look at something like Persona 5 vs SMT V, then yeah. The monster raising mechanics are not deep or interesting. Its just going through menus and choosing to fuse a monster with another to make the next better one. Another point for Pokemon where you can name, dress and travel alongside the mons. But it ain't my fault no one bought Demikids I will say that the demons having dialogue is an underrated aspect of SMT, they say incredibly unhinged shit and it's funny The monsters arent interesting very iconic, for the most Ehhhh yeah although I like SMT's lore and text tied monsters. It's a tad bit educational, even Its an rpg. Nocturne HD's new easy mode is so easy you can basically just press the Auto Rush button every single battle.
