RJP_X 05/02/24 1:12:52 PM #1:	There are no new sign-in's but a spam using my address on it is threatening me to pay them with bitcoin or whatever that is because they have me on cam. no new changes were made to my AOL as far as I'm concerned. had a strong password and it says in a spam message it was sent from my email to me. adjl 05/02/24 1:21:58 PM #3:	Hover over the "From" address in the spam email. Odds are it's actually from a different address, spoofed to look like yours. Spam emails will often be made to look like they're from somebody else, in this case spoofing the recipient's address for the sake of freaking them out. In that case, delete it and move on. If it's actually from your account (unlikely, but not impossible), it's been compromised and you should change your password. Make sure you run a virus/malware scan on your computer first to ensure the password change isn't picked up by anything that might be lurking there, then change your password and force a logout for all devices. --- This is my signature. I read it could be a spoof to make the address look like mine but wasn't really sent from my account per say? Nothing looks tampered with but the email being mine, and sent to my name. Just changed the password, should I just obliterate the account? No need to do virus scans I use a Chromebook, my AOL isn't my active account these days but check it here and there to see if anythings on it. Oddly it says no new log in's or anything sent from my email, but under from its definitely my email being sent to my name. In the spam it also says sent from me.
