I've only seen the first one and this feels like they called up every celebrity in Hollywood and threw in everyone who said yes, then did a bunch of high speed chases and explosions. You can't take it seriously, but it's what actually brings some color and pace to the movie not all that grim, wannabe tense, always trying-to-one-up personalities (with the forced goofys) that plague the movie and franchise altogether. The first movie is literally its own base universe and the rest of it is really like some absurd timeline that took after it. I know Tokyo Drift grew on people. The Gran Turismo + D1 GP nerd in me was wtf with that depiction at the time, but I'll admit it had a lasting image and it literally did influence the cross-cultural automotive scene of course with the help of YouTube and other means of accessibility (although I'm also thinking it's a bit tainted). But anyway, rest of the franchise clearly targeted a different audience and I have to give that production team and cast credit for their own success. $7B+ box office, memorable moments and memes within between generations. --- Competing every night, both ends, shoot inside/outside, fast break, transition, Monta Ellis have it all <cite>KaZooo posted [p:980246936] in Almost mad...
