Kroger and Safeway/Albertson's should be broken up, for example, into smaller companies, not merge into a larger company with as-of-yet-determined store locations divested to C&S. Near-monopolies are bad, and have led to price gouging, stifling competition, and impactful lobbying that works directly against the interests of citizens.
