Too much bread tbh. The only time I enjoy Texas toast is when I'm only eating the bread. I prefer enjoying more of the filling than the bread in that case. Its different if I'm eating buttered toast though.

I prefer this instead:

Two sandwich slices of white bread. Butter both sides of both slices in a frying pan. And two slices of cheese total. One American Deluxe and one whatever else you want - Swiss, Cheddar etc.

you butter and fry both sides of both slices of bread.
