Its a hilarious episode and its totally unrealistic which is part of what makes it funny. See, to me, what makes Scott's Tots so cringey is that it's NOT unrealistic. A younger Michael being so incredibly idealistic that he made an actual money pledge that, when the time came, he actually couldn't follow up on, feels incredibly realistic, and the cringe part comes in where you can just literally see him breaking down, as a character, since he has no idea how to explain that he failed and didn't live up to his own ideals. And, like somebody said, it's not necessarily a bad cringe. Beyond S1, you just basically fall in love with the characters, and you WANT them to succeed, for the most part. You don't really get that from season 1, because it took time for them to find their groove.
