I hate how they said the OG T Rex was moved to the new park and lazily excused this because they had similar scars.

I hate everything about Chris Pratt and his hand stance fending off the raptors.

None of the movies feel anything even close to the original three movies, even as controversial as JP3 was.

I did enjoy the first one solely based on its premise. Finally seeing what the park would be like when it's operational.

EDIT: And it gave us Camp Cretaceous which is probably the best JP related thing I've seen since the original movie

Second was neat, but it was too fucking dark, I couldn't see anything most of the time
Third was a movie about the humans, which just aren't as interesting as the dinos

Even JP3 was better than any of the World movies. I hope they bring back Park as the namesake. Calling it World was like the cherry on top of a crap sundae.

I mean you do realize Jurassic World was set in the same Island as the original Jurassic Park hence why the T-Rex was the same one?

Nope and I am sure they present more thought provoking stuff. It doesnt change the fact that a movie is fundamentally different from a book in terms of what it presents to the audience.

Pretty much this though in this case it was a two part problem mainly from InGen fucking around and finding out with its stupid military plans but also the one part that didnt make sense was the idea of people being bored of Dinosaurs or having to create hybrids to fill a niche

I guess this is true but at least it had something beyond the action (like the moral stuff you mention) which I don't remember seeing much of in world. But also I just sort of think a invisible megasmart t-rex-like creature is just sort of silly. It felt to me like they just sorta wanted to ramp up the power levels involved in all possible directions at once but the end result is sort of bizarre

To be fair, the latter makes sense if you assume that, in the Jurassic Park/World universe, Jurassic World/Park/whatever has been famous for so long without incident that... People are actually getting bored of it. And, to be fair, that's logical, in universe, since... It's not like a theme park where you can just create faster, better rollercoasters. They quite literally try to apply that logic, by creating more interesting dinosaurs, and it just... obviously backfires.

The original three movies don't feel close to each other. People need to stop worrying about legacy so much and just enjoy things. The fact that there are no other dinosaur movies to even watch is a mortal sin so why complain when we do get some if they're kind of dumb? Dominion wasn't great but the other two are absolute blasts to watch.

The third one really is the executives hitting the nostalgia pipe but the other two feel like someone said "we've got an infinite budget to do whatever we want. Let's see what crazy shit we can come up with to shake up the formula". The first one especially felt like it was storyboarded by a child playing with action figures and it is one of the best theater experiences I've ever had because I was that child when the old movies were coming out.

It is the fault of the first JW movie is its morality is wonky and the lesson more is that humans will always try to find a way to tame nature when its not something that is easy to even obtain in the first place. Its also why Claires arc is badly done.

The Indominus Rex was a really goofy choice to have the reason the park basically shuts down. More so as again they could make so many other dinosaurs. Thank god we never got that stupid human hybrid thing.

That's the part where you can't look for in universe reasoning. That whole plot is just a big meta joke. They were trying to get a new Jurassic Park off the ground for years but the executives kept shooting it down because they didn't think anyone wanted to see a rinky dink dinosaur movie. At one point they got really far pitching an idea for dinosaur human hybrid soldiers. So this is just a big punchline about how the Suits don't think motherfucking dinosaurs are magical enough for people, and I think it's hilarious.

Kinda but at the same time its like you have several different species of Dinosaurs that could be used, could have done just the raptors subplot but with more mid sized carnivores, InGen as a company has all this genetic power and doesnt really bother with other genetic ventures (we at least see a sabertooth cat in the Camp Cretaceous show).

Fuck even humanity in Independence Day like used the aliens tech to massively kick start a large boost to humanity and its technology. InGen is kinda like thinking lets weaponize dinosaurs because tech could go down and be useless even though like tanks exists.

First one was okay, second one was a random sci-fi film and not suited to the franchise at all but the third was also okay thanks to fan-service.

None of them are good though, especially when compared to the original. Seriously in contrast to the original you'll be asking yourself when exactly movies became so dumb. They've really regressed over the past 20 years, at least in the mainstream.

world was not good but it was at least decent. the rest were horrible.

but let's be honest here. jp2 wasn't good and no one liked it. we like it now because of nostalgia but it's never been considered a good movie. and the fact that jp3 is even worse than jp2 was crazy and absolutely destroyed the jp franchise for years upon years. world wasn't great but it at least revitalized the franchise, so there's at least that.
